Tolkki is rapidly becoming one of my favorite guitarists. That guy can throw down.

Half the people that voted for this list don't know shit about true guitarist.Half of these do belong but there's more to a good guitar player than just metal. You can't tell me the other half could even compare to the masters.I don't see Frank Marino,Robin Trower,Rory Gallagher or Warren Hayes and a lot of those mentioned who were left out also.Sounds like some of the voters are wet behind the ears to me.

No kidding...that first Montrose album with Hagar is an absolute MUST for anyone's rock/metal collection. Ritchie Blackmore belongs in the top ten.

It took three guitarists to replace Lindsey Buckingham when he left Fleetwood Mac. Finger pickers can play way above chicken pickers.

This list shows one thing - the power of the dominant culture. A mere popularity contest.

Poland was a better guitarist than Friedman. Speaking of which, I did not see Jason Becker on here.

You got that right, dfwgator. I'm going home to McKinney and put that CD on...

Chris Squire.

Bass players: Paul McCartney, Prince, Suzy Quattro. That's honest bass. A lot of bass players sound like guitarists or sax players, probably because they started in other instruments.

Has to be a joke. The first three shouldn't be in the top ten.

What? What? I can barely hear you for the ear-splitting sounds of the drop-D bar chords that are emanating from my daughter's room.
She hasn't seen this list yet, but I expect an interesting reaction. She has griped about the RS top-100 list since it came out, I suspect that she will like this one better.

Oh, it's a well known fact that he's a difficult priss. Doesn't take away from the fact that he's one helluva guitarist. It just means he's a pain in the ass to work with. LOL

Thanks for the mention re: Frank Marino. Forgot that "What's Next" is missing from my CD collection. I have several Trower CD's, as well. An unforgivable omission.
