[history]
"For the last several days I have seen Internet and tabloid rumors relating to me and Senator John Kerry. Because these stories were false, I assumed the media would ignore them. It seems that efforts to peddle these lies continue, so I feel compelled to address them. I have never had a relationship with Senator Kerry, and the rumors in the press are completely false. Whoever is spreading these rumors and allegations does not know me, but should know the pain they have caused me and my family. I am in Kenya with my fiance visiting his family, and we ask that the press respect our privacy and leave all of us alone."

"Someone it seems has talked to the parents."
We know it's not Terry Lindsner; he's in jail. I guess the Mass. Mafia have hired some new "negotiators" for this case.

This from someone who is of the media???

Again, as I noted above, we are supposed to believe that Polier sent the Kerry campaign a denial a couple of days ago.
Who's lying here? Polier or the Kerry campaign?

All those moved by 9/11 so much that they will take Kerry's Vietnam actionsn into account are already moved enough to vote for Bush in November- I don't think it is going to change a lot people under the age of 30's vote. I think the same for Bush's "AWOL" scandal- the ones who believe it weren't voting for Bush in the first place.

Drudge isn't a member of the right by any means.
Explain, he hosted Rush's show for a bit when he was away. From what I understand he is a pretty well known Republican.

Probably never happened. That was a "report" in the UK media that such an interview had happened. There has been no confirming information. This story has the potential to embarrass conservatives, and deserves to be simply dropped. Like the 180-degree turn made by the girl's parents, this could possibly be related to money. There may indeed have been an interview, but "big media" was sitting on the story until it either broke on a foreign news outlet - or it was "contained". I wonder how much *that* costs these days? Theresa better order another box of checks.

Possibly, but it wasn't the right that broke the story. Weasly Clark blew his guts about an intern, and Drudge isn't a member of the right by any means."
I may be in error, but this is the first indication I have found of this story.

"Where did the 'sleaseball' comment come from? A British tabloid? Why in the world should anyone believe that?"
It came from the Sun, a British tabloid not known for its journalistic integrity. Who knows if any such interview even took place? Their story was picked up by the foreign tabloid media.
What about the reported ABC interview. Similar provenance for that story as well. Perhaps there was no interview.
This story has a huge backfire potential. It's time, I think, to move on to other issues that have some traction. This one's finished.

Her father called Kerry a "sleazebag"...Who told us that her father called Kerry that? I sure didn't see him on television saying it. It was just a newspaper account, right? Perhaps even that supposed quote is just a rumor?

Somebody is sitting on an interview tape. Is that news agency going to take $$$$$ to shut up about it and conveniently lose those tapes? And....will anyone question the news source about it?

Hmmm...What about the quotes from her "friend"? A fake? A Lehane fantasy?"Watch for the friend to tell her story (with letters or "proof") to the National Enquirer. Once again, the National Enquirer will have more real facts than "the conventional media."

Matt Rosenberg a friend and colleague of Alex's? He should have disclosed that relationship in his article.

Despite the doctored photo, John and Jane were "on the same page"...both communists...just like Hillary.
I'm still waiting to see Hillary's thesis released from her college.

I'd say it's more than a few FReepers judging by the number of threads/replies to threads. And it appears from fellow FReeper comments here that Rush is talking about it as well. I've also heard Hugh Hewitt and Michael Medved discussing this on their radio programs. To me the issue is the media's handling of the story and NOT the story itself. So what's the point of picking apart holes in the story/denials?
To: mrtysmm
Maybe the tape was insurance.....to be viewed only if she mysteriously died.

Never! This is over for all intent and purposes and I suggest that the republicans just let it lie. Someday it will come out. If we make an issue out of this it will only blacken our eye.

the first one ....Kerry or Bush to define the other......sets the tone for the coming fall campaign. So here comes this Kerry has a bimbo on the side......and what does our side do.....runs with it.....and gets nowhere. We need to get back to searching for the Fonda-Kerry photo.
Exactly! The Fonda connection is eminently more provable, as well as damnable.

I have established, from reliable sources, that Matt Rosenberg, the author of this story, is based in Nairobi AND HAS BEEN A FRIEND OF ALEX POLIER FOR SEVERAL YEARS. This may not be surprising -- she wanted to confide in a friend -- but perhaps it is telling I looked and (the same?) "Matthew Rosenberg" has a byline reporting from Basra and Baghdad to this day.
Maybe he's not really there in Iraq...or he is though "based" in Kenya. How did he get to break this story then?
