[history]
President Bush made his way to Daytona International Speeway today, where he was honored with starting the race. Air Force One touched down on a near-by airstrip after doing a fly-by for the thousands of NASCAR fans in attendance. The President's motorcade then made a trip around the oval before heading to Pit Row, where the President greeted many of the drivers. Bush also took time to greet some fans in the stands. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I'm watching a tribute of sorts to Ronald Reagan on MSNBC and they showed a clip of Reagan at a campaign rally right before the election ..
There is a heckler in the audience .. they had problems with the lights and Reagan is trying to give his speech .. but can't because of the heckler
Reagan finally says .. Oh Shut Up!!! and the crowd CHEERS ... LOL!!
I never knew that before

Thank you! The President in his flight suit -- WOW!
"I flew fighters when I was in the Guard, and I like speed," he said. "It would've been fun to drive up on these banks." -- in your face DIMs!!!

Oh MamaB, I have been thinking about you and what you've been going through. You're right - it's not supposed to happen - a child dying before the parents.
I don't want to seem presumtuous, it may be too early for you, but have you heard of the group called Compassionate Friends? I have a friend who lost her five-year old daughter when she was hit by a car. Gail was devastated of course, and was inconsolable. This group literally saved Gail's life; it doesn't matter to them how old the child is, they welcome all parents who have suffered the loss of a child.

May God bless and comfort you and your family each step of the way as you learn to go on. You will never get over it but you will learn to live with it.
Remember, you now carry your lost loved one with you in your heart everywhere you go. For me, that thought helped. When it got to be too much, I would pray for Jesus to give him a big hug for me. Maybe silly, but we do silly things at times.

Oh, my my my my my!!! He is SO hunky in that flight suit. And I was delighted that he mentioned his F-102 experience today. I think he needs to get out front with this and be proud of his service in the National Guard.

How about THIS flight suit?

From my limited experience I know that it helps to talk about it. When Karen my daughter died (during the pregnancy) I talked about it a lot. By my talking about it many people were willing to share that they had lost a baby during their pregnancy also. It helps to know and talk with someone that has been through that life experience.
Later on, friends would ask me if I could talk to someone who had just lost a baby. Eight months later my neighbor lost twin boys who were born too early to survive. I was the ONLY person she wanted to talk to outside of her family. It gave meaning to Karen's life to be able to minister to others experiencing that pain. But you have to have processed and accepted the grief prior to assisting others, otherwise they will just drag you back into the grieving process.
I know that are various stages of grieving. This is a process. There are serveral good books on grieving that discuss those stages. My cousin that was in charge of a hospice program gave me a few books on grief.
That hardest part for me was trying to explaim to my four year old what happened to his baby sister. He was very angry with me for "losing" the baby. He wanted to know why and how I lost the baby, where did I lose it?" We learned to not use the term "lose" the baby in front of him.
Later, he then thought that all baby girls died. I had to take him over to a friend's house and show him her 3 month old baby girl.
Prayers to you.

I finished the book today. It took me a while. I wanted to relish it.

LOL, Excellent photo of a flight suit. And for a different perspective, how about THIS flight suit??
To: Inspectorette
I have heard of them but I found a group called Walking with Angels which has been a lot of help. One person on there has lost 4 children. How do you face something like that? Plus, the book, "Chicken Soup for the Greiving Soul" has been a big help. A cousin sent it to me plus about 10 other books. She knows I love to read!
