Kerry's Resume Enhancement

Much has been made of Senator Kerry's Vietnam record including his valor in action. I'm surprised such a moral man would accept decorations for killing and mayhem.

Some have said that he recommended himself for those medals.Maybe we should look into that claim by checking all the records.

Kerry chose a very risky scheme to enhance his future resume. Right from the start, John Forbes Kerry set out for a career in politics. What kind of resume would be complete without military experience during wartime?

But what has the lanky warrior done since his service to earn the respect of the "band of brothers"?

He denounced his comrades before Congress during the height of the anti-war protests.

Since becoming a senator, he voted against funding many of the weapons systems we now know make America strong and safe.

He voted against ousting Iraq from Kuwait in 1991, jeopardizing the world's energy supply, although President George H.W. Bush had convinced a large coalition of nations to join up. Arab oil powers promised to pay the bill.

In 2002 Kerry voted to authorize President George W. Bush to use force to disarm Saddam Hussein. But when the time came to stand behind the "band of brothers" in Iraq, Kerry voted not to fund them, again reverting to habit.

John Forbes Kerry is untrustworthy as a senator.

As a President, he would be a disaster for America.

Voting for John Kerry? Read this first First the upset in Iowa, and now New Hampshire, it looks like John Kerry is in familiar territory, the road to political victory. John Kerry is running on his own coattails as a decorated Vietnam Veteran, and has even Max Cleland stand by his side to tout his greatness. Apparently, Mr. Cleland didn't do his research. As this article reveals, John Kerry may not be who he says he is. I know that's a stretch, since he's a politician and all, but, see for yourself.

National Review Online

"Today, Sen. Kerry appeals to veterans in his quest for the White House. He invokes his Vietnam service at every turn. But an honest, enterprising reporter should ask Sen. Kerry this: Were you lying in 1971 or are you lying now?"

Years ago (36) at an Army base in MD, I was at a sergeant's EMQ . I read his decoration citation which went something like this: "While on patrol in Viet Nam his unit was ambushed. His entire squad was dead or too severely wounded to offer any resistance. He manned his M-60 until the last round was expended. He then drew his sidearm and emptied it. When he was relieved he was preparing for hand-to-hand combat. For this action the X has been awarded to Spec/4 x." I read the action for which comrade kerry was awarded the Silver Star and it roughly goes like this:"An enemy combatant fired on kerry and his crew. kerry proceeded to track down the enemy combatant and kill him" Now I ask you is it not the sole purpose of a soldier to kill people and break things? Two million VC and NV regulars were killed in Viet Nam. Shouldn't there have been 2 million Silver Stars awarded? Oh and the sergeant I mentioned earlier was awarded the Bronze Star with a "V". Of course if that had been kerry I'm sure it would have been the CMH. Yes medal inflation ocurred in Viet Nam but only to fast track officers and those officers with political aspirations. Officers were awarded the Purple Heart for (and I'm not making this up) cutting their hand(s) while trying to open a c-ration with their field knife (Ka-Bar).

Sounds like this was more of a bout of losing one's temper than courage under fire.

From what I read, Kerry beached his boat, placing his entire crew at risk in what might have been a trap, and killed an already incapacitated enemy fighter in what might have looked more like an execution to the liberal elite.

Where is the investigation of this?

I'm 100% certain if the roles were reversed, it would be the decorated Bush who might be under the microscope now.

No question. For proof just look at the questionable investigative reporting regarding the President's Air National Guard duty. After releasing 300 pages documenting his service, The Washington ComPost or Pravda on the Potomac has a front page story headlined "Only a few can remember Bush". Now I have an above average IQ - top 5% - but I can remember only a few of the 48 members of my basic training platoon and about the same number in my AIT unit. So I guess according to the elitist's logic, the rest of the people weren't there - AWOL don't you know.
