"Carl Cameron did NOT mention Alex Polier or Kenya, just that it was a woman who was the subject of the internet rumors."Correct...that's what I heard him say too......and that "a woman" has sent a letter to the Kerry campaign deniying that it was her, supposedly, involved with Kerry....
But before everyone gets wedgies over this let us all remember WEASLEY CLARK WAS THE ONE WHO PUT THIS STUFF OUT THERE.....TO 12 (COUNT 'EM 12) REPORTERS!!!!
It was not anyone here at FR.....it's become kind of like a beach ball at a Peter Frampton concert.....we're all just batting it around because it's fun!!!!

Thanks for the clarification. As there have been "internet rumors" about several women in connection with Kerry (including the one who touts her expertise at cigar selection) and as FOX is playing as coy on the story as the other nets, it's a frustrating story to follow.

I doubt that the multiple news outlets cited by Drudge as investigating this Polier business are wasting their time unless there is SOME evidence other than mere rumor that there is something here other than just a typical affair.

Carl Cameron did NOT mention Alex Polier or Kenya, just that it was a woman who was the subject of the internet rumors. I assumed, because Fox is being so coy about giving out details, that he was referring to Alex Polier. I could be wrong.Any of us could be wrong...although it's normal to assume AP is the individual who suppossedly sent the letter as that seems to be the only name being mention, as far as I am aware.
But then again, this could all be part of a ruse.

I don't think I've been conveniently ignoring anything. Since the first time I heard this rumor, I've been painfully aware that, in order for any of this to have any potential for any value whatsoever (except for Matt Drudge), the young woman involved was going to have to support the rumor. Nothing that Clark or Al Gore or Chris Lehane or the young woman's parents is worth a bucket of spit if this young woman doesn't support the claim.
How is that not obvious?

For one party to carp on the private indiscretions of individuals in the other party, appears to be a cheap shot--along the lines of those hypocrites who continued to stone fallen women, after being admonisthed, "Let he who is innocent, cast the first stone." I agree with you both...even if the scandal was first pushed by Democrats, the "storyline" now is that it was leaked by a conservative (Matt Drudge) - and if it keeps going, the storyline will be that it's a GOP dirty trick, and the GOP is pushing it because Bush can't beat Kerry on the issues.
We don't need to go there again.

Alex Polier, the woman at the center of the storm of controversy surrounding John Kerry, has denied she had an affair with the Senator via a letter. A letter to "his campaign"? Would that be a Dear John letter?
Dear John. I love you, but we didn't have sex. Remember?

There is likely to be extraneous evidence that supports this matter, not just a rumor and a "no" from her resolving it.
To: William McKinley
Any info on the woman/friend who reportedly had letters from Kerry to her? Or were they letters from her to her friend telling about her relationship w/Kerry? Or was this woman just wanting her 15 min.?
To: William McKinley
Just not in Kenya, and not with Polier. I was reading something similar on another thread. I can't find it now, but there was talk of inside info saying there is something there and that the girl in Kenya is a cover story.

It was fun while it lasted. The unwritten rule in these matters is that if the woman says it didn't happen, it didn't happen even if it did happen.

You keep talking in generalities but have yet to point to ANY evidence that the GOP or Rove are behind thisI specifically stated that I did not think Rove had anything to do with this in #135. Why would I want to point to evidence that contradicts what I think? My admonitions, here, go solely to people on this thread, who want to keep talking about this, as though they--that is the people on this thread--think this is a real issue, and a good one to pursue.
But go back and read what I actually wrote at #135. There is nothing vague about it.
