A leading Israeli rabbi has proposed hanging bags of pig fat in buses to deter Muslim suicide bombers who may want to avoid contact with an "unclean" animal. The idea was suggested to police by Rabbi Eliezer Fisher.
The newspaper Maariv said rabbinical authorities had sanctioned the plan to use the product - considered impure by Jews and Muslims - if it might save lives.
Police had no immediate comment on the proposal, according to Reuters news agency.
Israeli Deputy Defence Minister Yaacov Edri said he supported the proposal.
"If bags of pig lard will prevent zealous Muslim terrorists from carrying out attacks, I'm all for it," Maariv quoted him as saying.

has this been posted already? I seem to remember reading about something similar to this being done in either the Phillipines or Indonesia in the 40's. In any case, I hope it works.

Bags of pig fat inside the buses, and free pork rinds for every passenger.

This wouldn't work. This is absolutely silly.
Whatever we did with the Moros (I believe theirs is the insurrection people refer to when they talk about burying Muslim fighters in pig remains), the important thing is that we were killing them, NOT how we were burying them.
Out of the thousands of people in the WTC, some were doubtless eating ham sandwiches, hotdogs or sausages at the time the planes hit--this did not keep the militants from striking out of fear that their ashes would be mixed with those of swine.
If they want to solve the problem of terrorism, they ought to kill Arafat and take over all schools in the Palestinian Authority. The cause of terrorism is lousy parents and lousy schools teaching innocent kids to grow up into violent, lousy people.

their ashes would be mixed with those of swine. but you repeat yourself.
(sorry...couldn't resist....I'm thinking of the swine taking over the planes, the swine holding the passengers hostage, etc. IMHO, their ashes were mixed with those of swine, regardless of the food variety.)

can I add "lousy religion"?

Just send Ted Kennedy on a diplomatic mission to inspect their bus system... LOL! Heck, just lifesize pictures of His Largeness may repel Islamists, but it may repress all ridership, at that...

I remember a joke based upon a Utah speech accent, in which it said that
"In Utah we praise the LARD, and put the LORD in the refrigerator."
Looks like Israel may have to do the same.

Ah. I'm sure that the next move on the part of the evil Jews will be to genetically engineer flying sausages and launch them at poor Palestinian children.
Yes. Ariel Sharon wants to take plastic explosives away from the little children. He will use his flying UFO sausages to control the earth with the help of Rupert Murdoch.
