WRITE CONGRESS: INVESTIGATE questions regarding Kerry's ANTI-WAR ACTIVITY, WAR CRIMES
Posted on 02/14/2004 11:28:58 AM PST by counterpunch
We need to organize a letter writing campaign to all newspapers and members of congress demanding an investigation into John Kerry's vietnam and post-war record. Areas that need to be investigated in particular include war crimes and anti-american activities.
We need to know why General George S. Patton III said John Kerry's activities "gave aid and comfort to the enemy." The question of whether or not John Kerry committed war crimes needs to be resolved.
Senator Kerry needs to release all of his military records, lists of anti-war/pro-communist events organized and attended, list of speakers at events, text of speeches given, and all correspondences from this time period. Also he should release dental records/anal exams proving he was in vietnam when he claims he was. there should also be an investigation into what he did to earn his medals and whether or not they were given in error.

This is just the seed of an idea. Please, contribute ideas, emails, and sources to this thread.
Do NOT read this and then say "good others are doing this!" GET INVOLVED, and spread the word.

I like the idea, but I'm afraid Congress wouldn't get around to it until about a year after the election. Red tape and all. But the idea IS worth expanding upon.
I think that maybe by contacting the Congress critters, even if they don't do an investigation, at least they might come to realize that a LOT of people are upset about Kerry's free ride.

Yes. I'm sure that Arlen Specter, Orrin Hatch, or one of the other spineless members of the GOP would follow through with an investigation of one of their club. Looking to buy a bridge in Brooklyn?

Something else to have investigated:
Whether or not Kerry gave FALSE TESTIMONY in 1971 to the SENATE FOREIGN RELATIONS COMMITTEE.
This is an important issue that needs to be resolved.

Stipulate that if Kerry's April Senate 1971 testimony withstands scrutiny, then Jane Fonda's critics owe her an apology.
To: EggsAckley
We need to DEMAND it.
THat is why everyone must get involved. This should be the MAIN FOCUS of FR activism for the next 9 months.

are we all this blind?
this is like asking for opening up the investigation into chappaquiddick! it ain't happenin, folks! i admire the idealism....but it's time to get real.
i think while we cannot get these things done, we should focus on trying to make those leaked memos more of an issue. they took a play right out of the communist playbook.

Some time ago, McCain said that the video of Kerry testifying before Congress about "atrocities" was shown to McCain and other POW's while they were in captivity.
McCan and other POWs have said the impact of watching Kerry testify like that was damaging more than anyone every knew or acknowledged.

Congress will NEVER do this. They're all either a bunch of cowards or just a addicted to power as Kerry. They will not rock the boat. There are too many men in Congress who dodged the draft to question anyone else's service. And thanks to people like Kerry there weren't a lot of veterans who could run for office when the public, again thanks to Kerry and his ilk, though all Viet Nam vets were a bunch of crazy baby killers.
To: Peach
Then where the hell is McCain now? Why isn't he out there screaming this to the high heavens! Because he's a member of the club, that's why.
To: Terry Mross
Yup. You're right.
The article I read on FR last week about the POW matter quoted McCain from many years ago.
Now - he's silent. Too bad.

It doesn't matter if it's opened up or not.
What matters is that we raise the questions, that we get the media talking about it.
The more people who are involved, the harder it will be for them to ignore us.
Look at the nonsense over whether Bush was really in Alabama when he said he was.
We need to demand the same kind of media scrutiny of what Kerry was doing during those same years.

It is more then worth exploring...remember how the lame brains from hollywood encouraged everyone to fax, e-mail, snail-mail the White House on not going to war in Iraq? We can do the same thing here!!
We need to assign a few tasks that people would be willing to take part in:
1- letter writing that we can copy/paste
2- collection of fax numbers
3- collection of e-mail addresses.
This can and should be done by us!!

You know what...then don't complain! If you are not willing to do something about it, even if it seems futile, then don't complain.
I like to think it will have a snowball effect and belive it will...a year ago tomorrow I stood with 40 other Freepers in 5-degree weather at the UN protesting for the war and our President against 100K anti-Americans...a month later we had 1000 people in Times Square for a "Support the Troops" rally.
Just go to your state pages and get the word out! Someone should even e-mail Jim Robinson to see if he would tack this thread somewhere up on the iste!!

Why wait?
Regardless of whether or not he gets the nomination, these are serious questions that have surfaced that need to be vetted.
There is no reason to wait until he gets the nomination to start. It will take time and effort to build a movement and get these questions front and center in the public eye. We need to start now. We need to start asking these questions before Kerry is innoculated against such questions by defing himself as an unquestioned "war hero".
Time is of the essence. If we wait until he has the nomination, then it will be too late.
If we somehow derailed him from getting the nomination, then I say good. A possible war criminal and traitor has no place running for President.
