LOS ANGELES (AP) - If anyone's ever promised you the sun, the moon and the stars, tell 'em you'll settle for BPM 37093. The heart of that burned-out star with the no-nonsense name is a sparkling diamond that weighs a staggering 10 billion trillion trillion carats. That's one followed by 34 zeros.

Who says there is no reason to go into space? It reminds me of that Bugs and Daffy cartoon where Daffy gets shrunk by the genie and comes after the pearly that Bugs finds in an oyster at the beach. Daffy saying "It's mine, mine, all mine!" :)

Just great. Now my wife wants one.

Thank you for making anything I could ever get my wife seem insignificant. I'm gonna go eat all the f-ing chocolates now since there's reason to give them to her.

Does this mean that DeBeers will buy it and horde it to further drive the cost of diamonds up?

Sure, but it will be down to 7 billion trillion trillion carats after it's cut and polished.

Now there's one raw diamond that won't appear in a Lincoln Continental commercial.
(RE: the old TV commercial showing the diamond cutter doing the critical slice while
riding around in a Lincoln)
Of course, one day there may be a Lincoln Navigator that could hold it!
