What will Bush do if they don't meet the deadline?

Good question.

It seems for now that in that case, it will be turned over to U.N. Security Council. Maybe he'll allow that process for a short time and then take matters into his own hands. (I Hope)

you're right... I see it going the same way. Hopefully US won't get as far as Iraq.

I don't think Iran wants to find out. Couple this with our putting sanctions on Syria.

As they say something is up.

A tyrant a year. That's all we ask...

I don't think they want to find out either. They didn't believe Bush would go into Iraq and stay there. I think they're looking at Lybia's situation too. We'll see what happens.

"As they say something is up."

I think we'll see US troop incursions into Pakistan before anything serious happens with Iran.

Why would sanctions work in Iran if they didn't work in Iraq?

Or is GW Bush saying sanctions did work in Iraq?

I don't get where he's coming from.

"Why would sanctions work in Iran if they didn't work in Iraq?"

They won't.

They haven't.

The regime will absolutely NOT be told what they can or cannot do. Especially by the U.S.

I think President Bush's administration is starting up the groundwork with the goal of eliminating unconventional weapons from the hands of unstable governments. This is like giving notice to Syria and Iran that we know what they are doing. Who knows, maybe in ten years or so we are gonna have to invade and occupy those countries too.

On the other hand, I am greatly encouraged by Libya's admission of possession of WMD and the voluntary removal of them recently...

Something will happen way before that. They will have a change in government in Iran way before that. Think more like within a year.

Despite promises to the contrary, Boucher said, Iran has continued to hide information related to weapons from the IAEA.

Not cooperating, that's my take.
