Alex Polier -- The Kenya connection
Free Republic | 14th Feb 2004 | Free Republic

Posted on 02/14/2004 1:49:07 AM PST by propertius

For those of you interested in the Alex Polier Kenya connection here is a summary (repeating some of the stuff I wrote yesterday and adding waht little new info there is):

Alex Polier was, as of 5pm Kenya time, hiding out in Nairobi. She and her fiance, Yaron (sp) Schwartzman were staying at the home of his parents Joseph and Hannah. The London Evening Standard reported last night that she was already in the UK. They were wrong, although there is a possibility she may have flown later on last night -- but I think it is more likely she was still here.

Alex and Yaron were moved from the family's palacial home in the upmarket Nairobi suburb of Lavington late last night to avoid the press. They could be anywhere in Kenya -- at the coast or on Safari.

Yaron is believed to work in Nairobi at a company called Film Struck Studios or possible Film Studios. The company is owned by daddy. He is believed to move in a circle of friends known as the "cokehead set". Now there is more than one cokehead set in Kenya, which attracts old wealth, new wealth, British Aristocracy and some of the international gliterrati.

Daddy is the chairman of an engineering company called H Young, which is owned by former cabinet minister Nicholas Biwott. Biwott is a nasty piece of work. Former President Daniel arap Moi's right hand man, a Scotland Yard enquiry named him the prime suspect in the 1990 murder of Foreign Minister Robert Ouko. He plundered the Kenyan treasury and is known here as "the Godfather", "Mr 15 percent" (the cuts he took when awarding tenders to multinational companies) or "The Total Man" (he owns Total Kenya). Daddy is also business partner of Naushad Merali, another Moi frontman, a multimillionaire and probably Kenya's richest Asian.

This would suggest our man Yaron mixes with the 20 and 30-somethings who are the children or spouses of Kenya's leading criminals. The senior members of this set are Biwott's Israeli wife Rita and his son in law Charles Field-Marshall, a controversial Kenya-based Canadian businessman.

Even close friends of Yaron say they know nothing of the relationship with Kerry -- mainly because no-one really knows Alex.

The British press are finding it difficult to track her down -- they are attempting to "doorstep" her. This is a tricky process in nairobi where houses sit on 5-acre plots, cannot be seen from the road, are protected by big black gates, alarms, electric fences, a host of security guards and their dogs.

It has not helped that the British press were also watching the wrong house.

Hope this is useful to someone out there.

Don't you see a pattern here? The more they hide, the bigger they get. There may be a dozen satellite trucks around when she makes her debut:)

Is it me: has anyone seen Mrs. Ketchup since "the News"

I have not seen her at all, and I've been looking.

She owes me twenty bucks!

"BTW folks - you're looking at "The New Journalism" right here on this thread. Regular people, joining together and collating information, then feeding it to non-lamestream outlets for dissemination."

bttt!

Outstanding work propertius...

Very unethical, but as I said earlier the alohabet soup will do that to a Republican, But we will have to have Kerry Signed, sealed and delivered with a pretty pink bow tied to his horse face head before they will run thisa story.

As AIT said, when you cover up people dig deeper. Look at the difference here - Kerry : a classic Clintonian Non-denial denial, parsing words, and the person who can end it flat out is nowhere to be found. Bush : Releases All the documents from his NAT Guard Service when the rumors start.

NOw, ask yourself - who is covering and who is being forthcoming and truthful.

Tell you wife - If he can't honor the Oath he pledged to his wife, how can we expect him to honor his Oath of Office?

And since he's so busy meddling in gay marriage, his little affairs are contributing to making a mockery of traditional marriage in the country.

Something Teresa might know about (and therefore want to "maim" hubby)?

If she "maims" him, at least Kerry could use it as a combat wound! ;)

Yes. Good point. But doesn't it almost always happen that way? Because often, when men of low ethics like Kerry or Clinton or Hart are cornered, the first thing that comes to mind is NOT to say "OK, that's right. You got me. It happened. I'm sorry" and save themselves a world of pain, but rather, to say "Nope. Nothing to it. Not an issue. No. Next queston?"

They seal their own fates not so much by the original transgressions they committed against their wives (that are often forgiveable if not chronic and multiple), but more by the lies they easily gush forth in order to cover their tracks, and which snowball just like lies do, just as every kid's grandpa tells them that lies do.

OK, Julliardsux, already moving on that front. I have in my hand right here the *Congress at Your Fingertips, Standard Version, 108th Congress, First Session 2003* handy-dandy Capitol Hill directory. Well, I'll just be checking that right now on democrat Senate staffers in "Finance."

I am aware of just such a "book". I had a copy years ago. Mine was about 1.5 inches thick, and had a spiral binding. I believe that it is updated annually, so there is probably a newer version available and I'm quite sure that any public library in DC would have a copy.

I saw "Lost in Translation" with my last girlfriend. Now get this: I wanted to see a 'girly' movie at the time and she wanted to see blood, gore, guts and explosions! After the fact, it turns out a lot of people besides myself liked "Lost in Translation". Bill Murray acted very nicely. And so did the gal.

Know what is funny?
Democrats having trying to mount a character issue with Bush and his ANG service to make it a larger character/trust issue.

This pretty much blows them apart - all of them.

The irony of the DNC talking character when their man of choice has a very questionable relationship with several questionable women on staff.

It is not as detailed as in those days, I believe. Somebody needs to get an INTERNAL Senate staff directory, not the ones published out on the street, IMHO. I believe a conservative GOP Senator's administrative staff could supply.

But, I am an attorney, and I am pretty sure that saying what I have heard from someone else has told me when I have reason to believe it is not illegal. It can't be.
LOL hope you are more certain when representing clients in court! ;)
