Alex Polier -- The Kenya connection
Free Republic | 14th Feb 2004 | Free Republic

Posted on 02/14/2004 1:49:07 AM PST by propertius

For those of you interested in the Alex Polier Kenya connection here is a summary (repeating some of the stuff I wrote yesterday and adding waht little new info there is):

Alex Polier was, as of 5pm Kenya time, hiding out in Nairobi. She and her fiance, Yaron (sp) Schwartzman were staying at the home of his parents Joseph and Hannah. The London Evening Standard reported last night that she was already in the UK. They were wrong, although there is a possibility she may have flown later on last night -- but I think it is more likely she was still here.

Alex and Yaron were moved from the family's palacial home in the upmarket Nairobi suburb of Lavington late last night to avoid the press. They could be anywhere in Kenya -- at the coast or on Safari.

Yaron is believed to work in Nairobi at a company called Film Struck Studios or possible Film Studios. The company is owned by daddy. He is believed to move in a circle of friends known as the "cokehead set". Now there is more than one cokehead set in Kenya, which attracts old wealth, new wealth, British Aristocracy and some of the international gliterrati.

Daddy is the chairman of an engineering company called H Young, which is owned by former cabinet minister Nicholas Biwott. Biwott is a nasty piece of work. Former President Daniel arap Moi's right hand man, a Scotland Yard enquiry named him the prime suspect in the 1990 murder of Foreign Minister Robert Ouko. He plundered the Kenyan treasury and is known here as "the Godfather", "Mr 15 percent" (the cuts he took when awarding tenders to multinational companies) or "The Total Man" (he owns Total Kenya). Daddy is also business partner of Naushad Merali, another Moi frontman, a multimillionaire and probably Kenya's richest Asian.

This would suggest our man Yaron mixes with the 20 and 30-somethings who are the children or spouses of Kenya's leading criminals. The senior members of this set are Biwott's Israeli wife Rita and his son in law Charles Field-Marshall, a controversial Kenya-based Canadian businessman.

Even close friends of Yaron say they know nothing of the relationship with Kerry -- mainly because no-one really knows Alex.

The British press are finding it difficult to track her down -- they are attempting to "doorstep" her. This is a tricky process in nairobi where houses sit on 5-acre plots, cannot be seen from the road, are protected by big black gates, alarms, electric fences, a host of security guards and their dogs.

It has not helped that the British press were also watching the wrong house.

Hope this is useful to someone out there.

Oh, I would welcome that sir. It would be better to keep this off the public channels. I don't want to risk libel charges - but of course, truth is a defense to libel... Let's develop it before we go ape-poop.

If Julliards source is solid, then AP may be a fient by the Kerry folks -- get everyone chasing her while the real smoking gun is right under thier noses.

Agree, especially if the Alex matter is as her parents describe, i.e., Kerry only asked their daughter to work for him and she declined - voila! Not a sexual matter - while he's busily diddling a staff member of the finance committee on which he serves. He doesn't have to admit or deny an allegation that hasn't been made, and you can bet the lamestream media won't ask about Senate staffers.

Just trying to piece things together with some precision, you said: "Even close friends of Yaron say they know nothing of the relationship with Kerry -- mainly because NO-ONE really KNOWS Alex." and "I think the fact that she hasn't issued a denial is telling. Everyone around her knows virtually nothing about it, but that's because they DON'T KNOW HER. It would be much easier for her to come out and tell the press "I don't know what this is all about" so why isn't she?" and "Just heard from a friend of Alex's that "this thing has a long way to run... it's much nastier than it sounds"..." Are you saying that there IS a friend of Alex's there that YOU are in contact with???

thats why the Freeper network has to get to work on this stuff:

Why would AP "friend" say she is married -- how close a friend can u be if u don't even know the person's marital status. And this is someone saying there was no affair, yet they say she is married when she is not?

Who is the Senator, and will he talk? If he is a Dem, he most likely doesn't want his name out there -- as such anything he said would be on deep background.

Just what is AP relationship with Shwartzmann (sp.) -- are they "engaged" or is he just a cover for her?

All of these and many other questions have to be answered before a Time, newsweek, NYT, ABCCBSNBCCNN, is going to run with this -- they will fling rumor and inuendo on Republicans with impunity -- but Kerry is a DEM and Thier boy, they will not run with this and bring him down until they have 100% proof and HAVE to run with it. Unless of course a certain NY Senator or her scumbag husband says "now".

I am now looking at this story much like the Juanita Brodderick mess -- Her story wasn't aired until FR and other places dug up so much proof and noise that THEY HAD to run the interview.

That's right, and this senator would stand up and lie for Kerry on this issue.

Oh irony of ironies.

Now wouldn't that be something if she were attached to the "Social Security and Family Policy" subcom of the SFC?

I suppose only Jeff Forbes--staff director (and others) would know.

I have one particularly good source on the Hill of several, and will have him (or her) start in on it on Tuesday.

"where we surely wait in battle formation."

Not just yet. We can just sit on the sidelines and watch the democrats mess themselves. I pay enough in taxes to pay for the entertainment. I really could use some cheering up anyway.

I was in Japan a long time ago. What's Tokyo like today? Just another big city?

Exactly - to this day I believe that had MONICA been during a campaign that Clinton would have been sunk, but since he was POTUS the Dems fought tooth and nail so they did not have the STIGMA of a Resignation or Removal on thier hands.

If AP or the Senate Staffer are true - Kerry is finished.

Yea, unless there's a back door way out of this--like a brokered convention and we know they will arrange that if needed. Remember Torch?

This is great. My wife is pretty mad at me. She thinks I should have kept the gossip to myself - that I have no right to meddle in other people's lives.

But this guy is running for president, and how he interacts with staff is fair game.

She is just mainly freaked out that something bad will happen to me. But, I am an attorney, and I am pretty sure that saying what I have heard from someone else has told me when I have reason to believe it is not illegal. It can't be.

Go see "Lost in Translation" (Bill Murray). You'll get a pretty good flavor of it these days. At least Shibuya and Shinjuku.

Exactly right, and to report it is not meddling, by any stretch.

Nothing you have done is illegal, you have named no names nor accused anyone of anything. There is nothing wrong with passing on what you have been told when you caveat it the way you have.

I've heard of that...

I also specialize in caveats, at least, as best as I can...

The point is, with these things, is often it is not so much the original offense. It is when people are caught and asked point blank about it and they don't come clean. They just rush to cover up, issue vague statements, say "depends upon what the meaning of IT is", and lame pipe dreams like this that enter into their mind--they think they can COVER IT UP.

I for one and not for a President who "covers up", and does not come clean when charged. So, we are all operating ethically in this business, I believe.
