Seems like an odd time for the media to discover ethics.

American newspapers are hurt by their conservatism," Stalberg said. "The public is more sophisticated than newspapers give them credit for." I wonder which sense of "conservatism" he means here.

CNN - despite Dobbs' adamant declarations - was among the media outlets that went with the story Friday afternoon.

Bury it in a Friday afternoon news dump. How Clintonian.

.

We don't CARE what TV Reporter DOBBS is tired of. His job is to REPORT the news.

Thanks GOD we now have the Internet and good Talk Radio to work our own news stories for the American People.

If we had had these tools back when we came back from Vietnam over 1.5 Million poor Southeast Asian souls would not have lost their lives because of:

JOHN hanoi KERRY
JANE hanoi FONDA
HILLARY hanoi RODHAM
WILLIAM hanoi CLINTON
WALTER hanoi CRONKITE

""American newspapers are hurt by their conservatism," Stalberg said. "The public is more sophisticated than newspapers give them credit for."

American newspapers are hurt more by their elitist, liberal, left-wing snobbery and their lap dog
devotion to the DemonRAT Party; certainly not by being conservative in their reporting.
Their idea of conservative reporting is covering up all derogatory information pertaining
to their pet Democratic Party candidates and operatives.

Exactly. If ever there was a non-story it is President Bush's national guard service. But the presstitutes won't give it up.

As much as I don't care for Senator McCain and his hotdogging, I think the time will soon come for the President to call in some favors and have McCain go after Kerry big time for aiding and abetting an enemy.

The rules have changed, journalists say. The problem? No one is quite sure what they are.

They know. Things changed as a result of the internet and talk radio.

Years ago the CEO of Oracle (Larry Ellison, I think) was addressing a group of broadcasters. He said that in the future people would turn to the internet for news. After his address, Dan Rather cornered him and told him that network news decided what was news and what was not.

When people began to realize that the lamestream media had an agenda they began to turn to the internet for news. Links to print media sources allow the news seekers to make their own judgements about what is news and what is not.

The internet has become the town square where articles and papers are posted for people to come and read. Sites like FreeRepublic are places where like-minded news seekers can openly discuss the events of the day.

People either love or hate Rush Limbaugh, but both listen to what he says because he makes you think about the issues. Neil Boortz openly tells you to believe what you already know to be the truth or go research it on your own. Liberals can't deal with this because they want you to blindly believe what they are saying.

Which brings us back to the topic of when did things change. They changed when it became painfully obvious that the press was a co-equal member of the limosine liberal democrat party. Things are changing rapidly and getting out of hand for the democrats as their friends in the media have not been able to make inroads into talk radio or control the internet.

The Dallas Morning News used to be a great paper. Then about a decade or so ago the editorial staff began to shift. First it was championing the gay-special-rights cause, but it continued into other traditional liberal pet causes and templates. Now it is little more than a yellow rag, that will endorse Bush for president to try and maintain a beard. But they were all giddy with the Dems running away to out of state.

Except he didn't.

He did. He said I "categorically deny it. It's not true."

If he's lying, he's toast. But you can't claim he didn't deny it.

"Newspaper and television reporters once had finite and identifiable competition, most of which played by similar ground rules. Now, they're doing battle with untold numbers of bloggers, online sleuths and partisan radio pundits.

The rules have changed, journalists say. The problem? No one is quite sure what they are."

typical whining (because they realize how much control they're losing). now the mechanism to break stories no longer relies on the elite media to tell us what WE THINK is important. the power that was concentrated into the hands of a few, is now in the hands of many.

"There are no easy answers," said Al May, a former political reporter and the interim director of the School of Media and Public Affairs at George Washington University. "We have less time to deal with everything. In the old days, we had time to deal with it."

what a liar, what he's tying to say is that he has no time to cover the truth (kerry and hanoi jane, kerry and the intern) but devote more time to propagating lies (AWOL bush, bush misled us w/ WMDs).

The genie is out of the bottle. The internet is not going to go away. This is just the beginning. Just the beginning.

Right now, a fellow like Drudge can go from a one page website to a popular talk show.

It won't be too much longer before he (or someone else like him) has an internet only television news broadcast- totally on his own budget. It's become too cheap. The networks are dinosaurs, they can't wrap their minds around this phenomenom.

They don't control the news any longer. And this situation is not going to stop. Matt Drudge has a staff of reporters that number in the tens of thousands (if not more). Those reporters are you and I and everybody else out there with an internet connection.

Too bad we don't have drudge and the power of talk radio we had now back in 1992. Imagine all those bimboo eruption stories that could have unearth then..The mainstream media chose to ignore the draft dodging, the bimboos stories of Klinton and we all suffer from that - esp. to those who lost their love ones on 9/11.

Drudge is successful because there is an outcry, a hunger for news that is unfiltered, unbiased through the warp eye-shades of Dan Bather, Petttuh Jennings and BroKraw. The genie is out of the bottle, big media try to impose a particular brand of viewpoint to the public and the public has spoken. This is the sole reason why drudge and talk radio are so popular. This is part of the evolution, and the big three dinosaurs still think we need a news anchor to tell us what to think every night. Time to change the news hour to some game shows or reality series. How about a reality series on how to find Dan Bather in New Mexico and then drag him out of a mud hole in some little village in NM. That could be fun to watch. LOL
