I think that's too dismissive. I did allow for that by saying the reasons are complex. However, in the 1970s when Japan was kicking our collective butts economically, and they are still competitive, how do you explain that? Horay - you got it - we have all this bounty here - just like Africa, just like Soviet Union, just like India and China, Just like South and Central america and Mexico, who all have more wealth than Poor countries like Germany, Japan, US, etc. </sarcasm>
