Kerry intern's parents respond to allegations

FACING the first crisis of his campaign, Democratic presidential nomination front-runner John Kerry will today respond to allegations he had a two-year affair with a young woman who has since fled the country.
Branded a political dirty trick by the Democrats, the pro-Republican Drudge Report website yesterday accused Senator Kerry, 60, of having an affair that threatened "to turn the race for the presidency on its head".
At the centre of the allegations is Alex Polier, 24, who had worked as a New York-based reporter for Associated Press. She now is now in Kenya.
Her parents, Donna and Terry, speaking from Malvern, Pennsylvania yesterday, said there was no evidence of an affair, only that Senator Kerry may have been attracted to their daughter.
Mr Polier said Senator Kerry had called his daughter "two or three years ago" to ask her to work on his re-election team. She declined.
"I think he's a sleaze-ball," Mr Polier told London's Sun newspaper.
Mrs Polier claimed Senator Kerry was "after" her daughter.
Drudge, which broke the Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky scandal, alleged yesterday that a young woman, "recently fled the country, reportedly at the prodding of Kerry" after a two-year affair beginning in early 2001.
Drudge further claimed General Wesley Clark, in an off-the-record conversation this week with reporters just before he dropped out of the race for the White House, said that "Kerry will implode over an intern issue".
General Clark made no mention of this during an interview with CNN yesterday. Today, he will throw his support behind Senator Kerry as the Democrat candidate to challenge George W. Bush at the November 2 federal election.
Senator Kerry is married to Teresa Heinz, heiress of the food empire.
He has two daughters from his first marriage, which ended in 1990.

"Wonder if the AP helped the young woman in question to find new work in Africa."
As you know she doesn't seem to work for them anymore. I wonder if she didn't try to parlay her several articles about AIDs into some job over there. (Maybe with the help of a few pulled strings.)

"He only boinks rich women, so maybe they'll marry him and he can get their money."
Not quite accurate.
He boinks much younger women of any economic bracket. But marries older very rich women.
(Teresa is at least six years older than Kerry.)

Something just seems wrong with this picture.
How did an Australia paper interview the alleged "parents" but no American media did? Why the heck would Clark tell reporters about something that might torpedo the Kerry campaign, and then come out and endorse Kerry for president? Why wouldn't Clark, Edwards, Dean bring this out in the open to torpedo the Kerry campaign? And why isn't a conservative paper like the Washington Time blaring this on its front page?

Maybe he "ministers" to younger women, like Clinton did, but favors "experience" for the marriage bed? Then again, he could just want their money...

What is this, these Massachusetts Senators seem to have a thing about small-town Catholic girls from Pennsylvania.
It doesn't seem to do the latter much good in the end, either.

Do you think the Kerry campaign has put in a call to Susan Thomases yet?

Because no American press called the parents since they probably already know all the details. In fact, Drudge told Hannity on his show that yesterday Chris Matthews had this subject buzzing over at MSNBC but he didn't even bring up the subject on the air last night. It was all "Bush is a liar about his military records". Fair and balanced & no bias, of course.

My records show that Teresa is more than four, but less than five, exact years older than Kerry. He born in 43, she in 39.

This girl's parents sound really pissed. Kerry pursues and uses their daughter and then he denies it. Probably had some 'assistant' hand her airline tickets and say goodbye for him.

"Imagine that, a Rat denying an extramartital affair."
EVERYBODY denies extramarital affairs if they've had them. Men, women, Democrats, Republicans, ministers, atheists, politicians, non-politicians. You don't usually hear, "OK you caught me. I was fooling around with that young thing and boy was she hot."

Word on the street is that Polier is staying with some real "heavy hitters" in Kenya. Friends of murdered Mugabe.
Neat, huh?

Not only that, but a
blog entry made many days ago 'broke' the story. The
blog is run by
Cameron Barrett (go to the bottom of the blog to see his name and copyright note). Cameron Barrett works for
Wesley Clark's campaign.
And notice how in that blog entry, it already was setting up the right to take the blame?
Could this create a Democratic backlash against Republicans for perceived scandalmongering?
This was all part of the gameplan all along. And we already have posers writing
Andrew Sullivan with their 'seminar poster' scripts, straight out of the Moby playbook. (It seems like yesterday, Sullivan bit on their bait a little, but
this morning he seems to be catching on that he was used a bit).

The story says the London Sun, not an Australian paper, interviewed the parents.
