The AWOL story was debunked 3 times in 3 different campaigns...

There you go. Even if it's not true, it's still a story. It's a story until it's proven untrue and maybe still after that.

Against that, the Washington Post waited six months after everyone knew to tell their readers who Paula Jones was. You can't be too careful.

Dirty politics is mostly a mystery to me, too, but you can be darn sure if CNN could prove it was a Republican operative instead of a Democrat, that leaked this to Drudge, that would be all they were talking about-how awful Republicans are for bringing this up.

Instead, now upcoming on CNN is a piece on Dogs and politicians.

You know what's really creepy about all this? Clark's the one who knew about it and leaked it to reporters in an off the record conversation...said it was gonna sink Kerry...now he's endorsing him. The Clintons work on Clark's campaign and call Edwards to tell him to stay in the race.

Creepy. Really creepy. Only the Clinton's could be behind a double play like this.

I bet I know what's going on. They're all trying to decide on which wench to report on so they don't out more than one.

I wondered the same thing. Possible answer: Drudge is more willing to run with a story, without much corraboration. CNN, whatever it is, isn't willing to run a story, particularly one that was phoned-in by an anonymous Clinton person. With Drudge as the source, the Clintons are better able to hide the tracks leading back to them. Plus, the Clintons get their jollies out of being able to do their dirty work through Drudge, who first started the Lewinsky story.

A lot more people than Weasely knew about this, though. I wouldn't buy the spin pinning this on him just yet.

Must be the reason why the lame stream media was pounding the white house so much on Bush's NG stint...the rats knew this was coming and were hoping to overshadow Bush's military performance...

THE MEDIA ARE A BUNCH OF DIRTY LOW DOWN RATS....

Bush needs to quit responding to the AWOL issue. He's prolonging the issue - violating the "methinks he doth protest too much" rule.

He needs to make a simple statement and STOP:

Some folks are politicizing the character of my military service during the Vietnam conflict. As you know, I served in the Texas Air National Guard. I completed my service obligation satisfactorily as did many other Americans during this divisive era. I will not discuss the matter further. Instead I choose now to focus on America's future.

If you're in a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging.

Now that I think about it, I don't remember seeing Bush on the base in Montgomery either.

True. But if anyone were to have won the Nobel Peace Prize, it would have been Bill, not her. Plus, he's in the history books as "elected President." This must frost the already frosty Hillary.

Here's a question: is there a debate before the Wisconsin primary?

Some Kerry bloggers claim it was the Dean campaign who planted this.

Well, perhaps you are right. However, such bald faced tactics may make her rule as Queen of the Universe a bit difficult - I suspect her fellow dems in the Congress may not be inclined to work with her after she daggered her way to the top. On the other hand, she probably has their FBI files, too.

I agree. It's been settled. But maybe they're suckering the Dems again. If so, fine by me.

I drove home for lunch. I did not hear this story mentioned at the top of the hour radio news and once home I didn't hear a mention on MSNBC, CNN, ABC, Fox, etc.......

BTW, my main curiosity is to see how Teresa will handle this. That may be the big story.

"The Key Question, did he actually show up in Alabama to "service" her. Remember nobody can remember seeing them. Sorry, wrong story, just trying to get the press slant on the whole thing!"

LMAO!

it sounds like we should be very cautious about this, it could be a setup. at best, if its only an affair and nothing else, I don't think it has legs at all. we should realize the number of US marriages then end in divorce, mostly due to adultery. unless the woman is MUCH younger, or there is another angle to the story, some kind of coverup, its not going anywhere. Kerry's post vietnam behavior, his bad record on support for the military and national security, should be a much bigger story then whether he had an affair.
