CAMPAIGN DRAMA ROCKS DEMOCRATS - Thread 1
CAMPAIGN DRAMA ROCKS DEMOCRATS: KERRY FIGHTS OFF MEDIA PROBE OF RECENT ALLEGED INFIDELITY, RIVALS PREDICT RUIN
**World Exclusive** **Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**
A frantic behind-the-scenes drama is unfolding around Sen. John Kerry and his quest to lockup the Democratic nomination for president, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
Intrigue surrounds a woman who recently fled the country, reportedly at the prodding of Kerry, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
A serious investigation of the woman and the nature of her relationship with Sen. John Kerry has been underway at TIME magazine, ABC NEWS, the WASHINGTON POST, THE HILL and the ASSOCIATED PRESS, where the woman in question once worked.
MORE
A close friend of the woman first approached a reporter late last year claiming fantastic stories -- stories that now threaten to turn the race for the presidency on its head!
In an off-the-record conversation with a dozen reporters earlier this week, General Wesley Clark plainly stated: "Kerry will implode over an intern issue." [Three reporters in attendance confirm Clark made the startling comments.]
The Kerry commotion is why Howard Dean has turned increasingly aggressive against Kerry in recent days, and is the key reason why Dean reversed his decision to drop out of the race after Wisconsin, top campaign sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

They said they are going to challenge elections that don't have a paper trail, whatever that means. Well they best start saving their money because that plan will be an expensive one

It just seems like every time they come up with something stupid, the media fuels it and it turns into a big issue and then Bush's poll numbers drop.

IMO, a lot of Dems won't want to go through this bimbo deal again, but will take their cue from Theresa. I agree .. one thing I've notice from watching her is that she wants the White House

I just wonder if old money bags Soros would fund them, though. God, I'd hate to have to face another 2000 election.

It has nothing to do with looks.
It has everything to do with power.
The number of young women I've seen on the Hill, chasing married men, meeting them after hours, wasting their child-bearing years on these old curmudeons - it's the power. They'd do anything to be close to power.

Fine .. it will be a waste of money and Soros will get a little closer to being broke and the left will look like even bigger fools
Sounds like a win win

I sure hope so. They are really scary people but I've seen what they have done with this AWOL thing. Imagine what they can do with blaming Bush for starting this rumor on a "war hero"

I've seen what they have done with this AWOL thing.,p>They haven't touched Bush. Name one Vietnam vet who thinks Bush was AWOL or didn't serve. Name one who prefers Kerry to Bush. Sure, Kerry has a handful, but name one who would switch from Bush to Kerry on this lame issue.
Secondly, Bush keeps dribbling out supporting evidence. At some point the press is going to notice they have their hands in the oven.

Don't worry too much - no matter the situation, the Dems would blame Bush, so it doesn't matter what they do with this story. If they weren't caterwauling about this it would be something else. We need to just sit back and enjoy the fireworks show. As long as W isn't distracted from the terror war (he isn't), and the economy keeps growing (it will), we have nothing to fear.
To: Danette
I bet you're right

When November rolls around, the election will be decided on the public's perception of the war on terror and on the economy. With luck, Bush will win easily. With bad luck, the election could be close. In either case, slogans are not going to affect the outcome.

Let's see, they're candidate has an affair with an intern while on the campaign trail, a completely contemporaneous event, that reflects directly upon his judgment, character, integrity and honor -- and many folks would believe that makes him unfit to sit as President. The story was leaked by his mistress' girlfriend (presumably a Democrat) who also is working the campaign -- and the folks over at DU get rabid at the GOP.
That makes about as much sense as coming home and kicking the stuffing out of your dog because your boss yelled at you. Poor dog.
So, these insane Dems, are gonna pursue a strategy of making up more ridiculous claims (like the AWOL charge) about events that occurred decades ago as some sort of retribution against the GOP because Democrat Kerry is bedding some Democrat intern while he's married, violating his vows to his wife -- somehow they believe that's our fault ??
Sounds like some of the discussions I have with my own wife from time to time.
If the dems attempt that strategy, even the dopey, emotional voters surely will see they're raging, insane maniacs.
No wonder Dean, Gore and others are running around the country screaming off their fool heads.
Geezzz.

Thanks, everyone for cheering me up. I always feel so clean when I come here and so contaminated over there.
