CAMPAIGN DRAMA ROCKS DEMOCRATS - Thread 1
CAMPAIGN DRAMA ROCKS DEMOCRATS: KERRY FIGHTS OFF MEDIA PROBE OF RECENT ALLEGED INFIDELITY, RIVALS PREDICT RUIN
**World Exclusive** **Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**
A frantic behind-the-scenes drama is unfolding around Sen. John Kerry and his quest to lockup the Democratic nomination for president, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
Intrigue surrounds a woman who recently fled the country, reportedly at the prodding of Kerry, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
A serious investigation of the woman and the nature of her relationship with Sen. John Kerry has been underway at TIME magazine, ABC NEWS, the WASHINGTON POST, THE HILL and the ASSOCIATED PRESS, where the woman in question once worked.
MORE
A close friend of the woman first approached a reporter late last year claiming fantastic stories -- stories that now threaten to turn the race for the presidency on its head!
In an off-the-record conversation with a dozen reporters earlier this week, General Wesley Clark plainly stated: "Kerry will implode over an intern issue." [Three reporters in attendance confirm Clark made the startling comments.]
The Kerry commotion is why Howard Dean has turned increasingly aggressive against Kerry in recent days, and is the key reason why Dean reversed his decision to drop out of the race after Wisconsin, top campaign sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

From Drudge now up:
Democratic presidential frontrunner John Kerry is planning a response to a DRUDGE REPORT exclusive which first revealed the frantic behind-the-scenes drama surrounding a woman who recently fled the country, reportedly at the prodding of Kerry!
The nature and details of a claimed two-year relationship, beginning in the Spring of 2001, between a young woman and Kerry is at the center of serious investigations at several media outlets.
After being approached by a top news producer, the woman fled to Africa, where she remains, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.

There are lots of reasons they are liberal. Most important one is they learned it in college from liberal professors. Also they think their way is the norm and our way is the fringe of society. As far as them not caring about the truth, they want to get their people in and they think the end justifies the means.

Just what is their vision of the "end" that their "by any means" justifies ??
Do they not believe in freedom and liberty -- what do these words mean to them ??

There's a video of the girl and her girlfriend. Unlike Monica and Linda, there's no lawsuit, no FBI, etc., so the video will be in play.
Teresa thinks JFK's chances at the WH are a lot better now than they were a month ago. She'll use Karl Rove - a new version of the VRWC - and will stick by Kerry because he's being 'attacked'. Remember this. She said she wouldn't use her money on his behalf UNLESS HE WAS UNFAIRLY ATTACKED.

And very interesting point about the "UNLESS HE WAS UNFAIRLY ATTACKED" ... because from what I can tell .. Kerry is broke and living on fumes

Am I the only one who heard Rush and Sean specifically say that a supermarked tabloid had this on their cover?
And that they believed that it would the tabloids in Europe who would search out the girlfriend from her hiding place.
I forgot which tabloid, but the investigation was done by a tabloid, again. Because it's the kind of investigation that the NY Slime, the Washington comPost and others just won't touch.

>> I'm showing my age here a little
You are not showing your age at all. I contend that the press has always been liberal. Take my namesake for instance ... during WWII the press was all over Patton for number of things, which today would be called politically incorrect. Andy Rooney of CBSs sixty minutes is one of the last remaining WWII war correspondents that are still on the air - and he was a flaming liberal and biased during WWII, just as he is today. Think about how all of FDR's programs were sold to the American public during the 1930's. Now that was long before what I can remember, but I had family that thought FDR was a left-wing wacko. At the time, FDR was. But compared to the Republican Party today, FDR was a right-wing wacko. The fact remained that the press of that day conveyed FDR's message to the public with a liberal slant.
I think it often boils down that there is a spectrum of personality types. There are people who think, and there are people who feel, or some combination in between. Personally, I think I feel about the correct things in life. (intentionally awkward sentence) Liberals feel more than they think. Take a look at the underlying theme of most political issues today. The theme is something that will help the poor, the crippled, the elderly, or the children. Here's an example, however a little complex. Bush was in Central PA today talking about jobs and no child left-behind at a local high school. The education bit is an issue Bush co-opted from the Democrats. The reporting on this was rather negative. If a Democrat was to give the same speech that Bush gave today, he would be carried out on the shoulders of the media. Here's the rub: a feeling type of speech is incongruous with what the press thinks of a republican. Ergo, Bush must not be honest. Thats a feeling sort of thing, and it comes out in their stories. But look at what Bush has said in the past about education, and look at what Bush has done about education. He is consistent with what he says and does, but he is inconsistent with Goldwater republicans, like me, that would be perfectly content in shutting down the Education Department. When you do have a Goldwater republican talk about education, the press feels that he dispassionate. How can anyone want to deny children education by cutting federal spending on education? That evokes emotion, and once the emotion is out, all thinking shuts down. The thought that people would have to run less money through a Washington bureaucracy instead of keeping their money local, and having more money for the education of children never enters the mind of press, since it was blocked by feeling.
So perhaps, it just boils down to the press feels more than it thinks. Take note, when they do think they are usually wrong. Now that is a dangerous combination.

Nope. Kerry will appear on Imus at 0830 EST tomorrow. Drudge reports Kerry will have a pre-emptive explanation by then. It was confirmed to me earlier today that the major networks will not break the story unless another does so first.

Thanks for your encouraging words -- I guess I needed a shoulder to cry on :)
Right now, I'm gonna pop some corn and watch Leno. Maybe he'll say something that'll cheer me up.

I hope this gains critical mass, and kills Kerry's chances.
I never thought he would get the nomination. I always thought it would be Edwards, and still do.

It means they are willing to lie cover up or whatever it takes to get the libs back in power so life can go back to normal as they see it. Than they can be normal again and their libs will get the country back to normal again.

Relax. I don't think this is going to redound to Rove. There's no need for Republican activists to do this because Democrat activists are doing it for them.
Susan Estrich is hardly a tool of the VRWC; neither is the Boston Globe. They know Kerry. Boston knows Kerry. MA knows Kerry!
The Dems fell in love with Kerry because polls showed Dean couldn't win, and because he was a Vet. If you can't get the base motivated for your candidate, you have to deflate the base of the opponent. That's why they're pushing the character issue about GWB.
The Kerry camp knew this was coming - if not this story, then some other. They will have a plan in place to deal with this. IMO, a lot of Dems won't want to go through this bimbo deal again, but will take their cue from Theresa.
The DU hasn't been right about anything yet; remember, 6 weeks ago they were primarily Dean supporters.

Hardly ever agree with Hannity -- but today he was correct, time for us to lie low, and let the Dems self-destruct :)

Drudge has everything - heard it on Hannity this PM. He's waiting a day.
