A frantic behind-the-scenes drama is unfolding around Sen. John Kerry and his quest to lockup the Democratic nomination for president, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
Intrigue surrounds a woman who recently fled the country, reportedly at the prodding of Kerry, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
A serious investigation of the woman and the nature of her relationship with Sen. John Kerry has been underway at TIME magazine, ABC NEWS, the WASHINGTON POST and the ASSOCIATED PRESS, where the woman in question once worked.
MORE
A close friend of the woman first approached a reporter late last year claiming fantastic stories -- stories that now threaten to turn the race for the presidency on its head!
In an off-the-record conversation with a dozen reporters earlier this week, General Wesley Clark plainly stated: "Kerry will implode over an intern issue." [Three reporters in attendance confirm Clark made the startling comments.]
The Kerry commotion is why Howard Dean has turned increasingly aggressive against Kerry in recent days, and is the key reason why Dean reversed his decision not to drop out of the race after Wisconsin, top campaign sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

What a pipsqueak ambulance chaser.

Truth and morality are pedestrian pursuits of the conservatives. There isn't a sin that Kerry can commit for him to lose support in this craven political process.

I don't know....I just have this vision of Hillary on her broom circling around this mess, staying below the radar and waiting for her opportunity.

There has been an enormous amount of past Kerry positions that are shockingly anti-American and great fodder in an on-going presidential campaign. I'm sure the Bush people have been working on this for 2 years now. However, Free Republic has worked on it for just the few weeks since Dean imploded and look what this site has come up with.
Amazing.
Kerry is doomed and the east coast establishment media know it.
I, too, hope Kerry has the momentum to overcome the attacks of the media because I think he's an easy target now for Bush to destroy.
The slipperiest candidate with no record to attack is Edwards.

Too late for that.

Truth and lies aren't concerns of democrats, so please don't confuse the power of the truth with the quest for power.

"Did she get him to sign a pre-nuptal?" Wow! I never even thought about that. I hope so. I'd love to see him on the street with a sign: WILL LEGISLATE FOR FOOD".

She certainly did. And I bet he'll regret turning down matching funds.

But if Ms. Heinz dumps him, how is he going to repay the $6mil mortgage back. $300K+ monthly payments on this 100k+ yearly salary? He said he would pay it back with out her help.

I agree. I've long thought Edwards would be the most dangerous should he get the nomination. Every time I see him I think, "My gosh, he thinks he's JFK!"
