We’re going to need a thread II as this one is starting to slow the site down. Also, on the new thread, please stop posting the name and pictures of the person you think the woman may be. The evidence doesn’t support the claim and we don’t need to be doing that. Wait for it to come out. It will. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1076893/posts

CAMPAIGN DRAMA ROCKS DEMOCRATS -Drudge Alert (Thread II)

CAMPAIGN DRAMA ROCKS DEMOCRATS

Update 2:

CAMPAIGN DRAMA ROCKS DEMOCRATS: KERRY FIGHTS OFF MEDIA PROBE OF RECENT ALLEGED INFIDELITY, RIVALS PREDICT RUIN

**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**

A frantic behind-the-scenes drama is unfolding around Sen. John Kerry and his quest to lockup the Democratic nomination for president, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.

Intrigue surrounds a woman who recently fled the country, reportedly at the prodding of Kerry, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

A serious investigation of the woman and the nature of her relationship with Sen. John Kerry has been underway at TIME magazine, ABC NEWS, the WASHINGTON POST and the ASSOCIATED PRESS, where the woman in question once worked.

MORE

A close friend of the woman first approached a reporter late last year claiming fantastic stories -- stories that now threaten to turn the race for the presidency on its head!

In an off-the-record conversation with a dozen reporters earlier this week, General Wesley Clark plainly stated: "Kerry will implode over an intern issue." [Three reporters in attendance confirm Clark made the startling comments.]

The Kerry commotion is why Howard Dean has turned increasingly aggressive against Kerry in recent days, and is the key reason why Dean reversed his decision not to drop out of the race after Wisconsin, top campaign sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

Update 3

FROM CONRESSIONAL QUARTERLY'S CRAIG CRAWFORD: 'Drudge item on Kerry intern issue is something Chris Lehane (clark press secy) has shopped around for a long time -- it was one reason the Gore vetters in 2000 shied away from Kerry as a running mate choice -- their conclusion that it wasn't bad enough to disqualify him, except for the fact that they couldn't risk it as they were trying so hard to distance themselves from Clinton's personal failings (note: Lehane worked for Gore at the time -- and briefly advised Kerry during this campaign). The Kerry camp has long expected to deal with this, and have assured party leaders they can handle it'...

She would run now...as VP. That way, she wouldn't be blamed if they lose -- the Pres. nominee would take the heat -- and HRC would rack up sympathy votes for 2008.

That makes no sense. Clark would have done so before dropping out, before TN, before VA.

I see you signed up on 2/1/04.

If your allegations that Drudge is gay are meant to move mainstream conservatives away from him, you're in for quite a surprise.

If you are a Democrat, I can see you are following the usual tactics of policy of personal destruction.

Which candidate jilted Lehane from their campaign? IT WAS KERRY, WASN'T IT? This was paybacks for firing LEHANE.

...what Kerry did with an intern has no bearing on his electability.

I disagree. The American public turned their eyes away from Clinton's foibles in '96 to protect the Presidency. There is no such dynamic at work here.

I was just listening to EL-Rushbo, and heard this story and jumped right here. I haven't read all 1400 comments but I smell a clintonian assasination plot.

What allegations? You mean the ones that are dredged up everytime a Democrat gets caught in a scandal that is broke by Matt?

Killing the messenger, a long held losing tradition.

Exactly. Clinton was already IN office; Kerry is not; they can nip this in the bud.

Monica Lewinsky, in a statement released today, countered
John Kerry's firm denial:

I have had enough. This whole experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth, and I can't stomach any more. I feel as if I am getting the shaft and that this ugly matter has come to a head and blown up in my face. This may be a load to handle, but when things are hard, that is when I am at my best. I have faced hard things in the past and I know what is coming. I will meet the the challenge the only way I know how: head on. I have licked bigger things than this before, and I will again.

No one will ever be able to say that Monica Lewinsky isn't a finisher, that she quit before the job was done. I will work non-stop and fight this blow by blow, until I am wiped clean of this dirty affair. I will not be stained by it. As for John Kerry, I hope he gets a stiff penalty.

Thank you

Speaking of Matt Drudge. What about these allegations that he's gay.

He's not running and I don't care.

Yes, Kerry fired Lehane, who then went to Clark. Before that, Lehane worked for the Clintons, then Gore. The weasel gets around!
