Explosions rock Al Fathah Air Field in Iraq, as Army engineers and Air Force explosive ordnance disposal personnel detonate a weapons cache, Feb. 5, 2004. An estimated 2 million pounds of explosives were left at the air field by the former Saddam Hussein regime, making the weapons cache at Al Fathah the largest uncovered by the coalition. The cache is being destroyed at an average of 100,000 pounds per day. U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Jeffrey A. Wolfe

I wonder how well these caches are being searched for Bio and Chem munitions prior to being destroyed? I know in GW 1 we ended up mistakenly detonating some of the "evidence." Are we blowing up our own chances to shut up the anti Bush crowd?

If we found anything,it wouldn't be enough to silence the critics. We lost two soldiers recently preparing to dispose of this kind of thing. What they do is so dangerous.

I'd like the blowing up part a lot. I'm not so sure about the getting the stuff to where you blow it up part. :)

I've had this idea for an amusement park: It would have large areas of land where members of the public could rent and play around with heavy machinery like earthmovers, bulldozers and back hoes. The park would also feature a public blasting range.

Yup. I'm a long-time member of the "blow it up where you found it" school.

The explosion is nice, but the shockwave is where it's at.

I'm just happy that Hussein had nothing in his arsenal that could ever hurt anyone. I mean really could these bombs be used against his own people or something? :)
