MTV Networks, buoyed by positive talks with top cable operators, has begun stepping up the planning for Outlet, a 24-hour network aimed at gays and lesbians.Outlet? Interesting choice of names for a group of people that can't tell an outlet from an input.

Like regular MTV was not enough for pushing the gay agenda?
To: Dan12180
Outlet will likely become a part of MTV's the Suite lineup (consisting of MTV, VH1 and Nickelodeon). Bundling a queer station with a kid's station?
Nothing wrong with that...Nope. Not a thing.

It is as if they are trying to sell this lifestyle to the rest of us. Ya Think?
Like schools and lawyers, Hollywierd has been overrun by the gay agenda. I look for this channel to last maybe a year or two on it's own. I can't see advertising alone keeping it alive. The gays will scream to DC that the Outlet (is that a veiled euphemism for an anus?) Channel should be subsidized like CSPAN.

I don't want to pay for this crap - "packaged" or not. I don't want to get this channel for free.

Less than that if every advertiser they sign up is boycotted.

It is a lifestyle constantly pushed on all channels (except espn) today. It is in movies, on sitcoms, special stand up presentations, etc. It is all over the place. Yeah and even if you try and get away from it they wont let you. Try looking at your favorites on Amazon DVD. Try and get the Gay & Lesbian selection removed. I don't care if people want to be gay but I don't want anything to do with it. I don't want to be around them, don't want to see it on TV especially when my nephew is in the same room.

Better yet if this thing ever gets on basic cable tell your friends to call up the local offices and demand they come out to your house and completely the block reception of this channel. If they don't tell them they just lost a costumer.

High ad rates + a very small target audience = a losing proposition, IMO.

a 24-hour network aimed at gays and lesbians. But we outlaw cigarette advertising on television.

You do realize that the basic cable option package includes MTV rather you want it or not. How do you think MTV gets paid.
Wouldn't it be nice if you could opt out of MTV in cable subscriptions. Bet MTV would disappear real quick.

If I had kids, I swear 99% of the channels would be locked.

Outlet? Interesting choice of names for a group of people that can't tell an outlet from an input. That's what I was gonna say. They've named their channel after their favorite thing -- the anus.

I thought we already had VH1.

The time has come to DEMAND a la carte cable programmingI agree. I'm not ready to give up my "Andy Griffith" and "I Love Lucy" reruns, as well as other channels I enjoy, yet I'm being held hostage by my cable company to pay for the trash.

Disney / ABC / Viacom produce Pro-Gay sitcoms, movies and channels at a financial loss. Their goal isn't profit, it's recruitment and to keep pounding theiir beliefs down the public's throat.
They use the money earned through their family-friendly programs and movies to finance the seedy stuff that no person in their right mind would support.
The only way to stop them from producing the gay stuff is by boycotting ALL their product lines, even the wholesome "family" products. All my children's aunts and uncles know not to send any toy / game / movie with the Disney / Viacom / Paramount label.
Follow the money.

YES!! I've been saying for years, I'd love it if someone somehow developed a cable service where we could pick channels à la carte and be charged based on the combination selected...just like a restaurant menu. I wish dish network would let you drop CNN or CNBC for FNC. That cheap package looks good except for the exclusion of Fox. Still thinking of leaving cable but a better selection in the basic packages would make it easier.
