[history]
'Bush and I were lieutenants'
George Bush and I were lieutenants and pilots in the 111th Fighter Interceptor Squadron (FIS), Texas Air National Guard (ANG) from 1970 to 1971. We had the same flight and squadron commanders (Maj. William Harris and Lt. Col. Jerry Killian, both now deceased). While we were not part of the same social circle outside the base, we were in the same fraternity of fighter pilots, and proudly wore the same squadron patch.

You don't get paid if you're not there.Same is true for all branches of the service. General Richard Meyers has said that it was the same way in the Air Force when he was flying in Vietnam. The media wants to see logbooks, and Myers said not all pilots kept logbooks, it was a personal preference in the military, but it's different and logbooks are required in the civilian (airliner) side.

I hope the "monkeys in the middle" aren't fooled by this ploy of "Bush the deserter."
BTW: Am I the only one who would like to punch Kerry in the nose?

This one is bookmarked. I'm so sick of hearing these whining democrats, who have never served anything but themselves, knocking the president.

I'd LOVE to bash that face, although it looks like someone else already beat us to it!

There's probably a long line forming somewhere. Everyone who's a Republican are in that line, and you can bet there is a fight as to who wants to be the first one in line to land a blow on that face of his.

You don't get paid if you're not there. The Democrats are now saying he got paid when he wasn't there; we just cannot win.

Yes we can win. I am calling media outlets tomorrow and asking them why they aren't paying attention to President Bush's excellent non-proliferation suggestions that he spoke about today, and I am also asking them if THEY served in the military.
To: Miss Marple
Did you see Lithcomb of the Sun Times on Fox..terrific.

The followon guest Lipscomb from Chicago Sun Times made some good points, on the ignorance of reporters on the Military and the clumsiness of the White House giving good answers to the reporters!

Very good article, the dissing of the National Guard is particularly offensive to me,Col. Campenni was just on John Gibson's show on FOX News and he ripped the notion that National Guard duty is somehow a dodge. He was livid, and rightfully so. FOX doing a great job right now in ripping the reporters who are "repeating, not reporting".
A friend of my son's and of our family is with a Guard Unit there now. I have a nephew in the 101st who just got back and several more friends who were in initially with Marine Units. We are all very proud of the great job you all are doing over there. Rest assured, your fallen comrades, you and your unit comrades, as well as all the others bravely serving this nation, are in our prayers constantly.
Thank you for your service.

Kerry should just be honest with the voters and say he has no agenda whatsoever. If he wants to play hardball politics, he better be ready to take it.
