'Bush and I were lieutenants'

George Bush and I were lieutenants and pilots in the 111th Fighter Interceptor Squadron (FIS), Texas Air National Guard (ANG) from 1970 to 1971. We had the same flight and squadron commanders (Maj. William Harris and Lt. Col. Jerry Killian, both now deceased). While we were not part of the same social circle outside the base, we were in the same fraternity of fighter pilots, and proudly wore the same squadron patch.

Please someone get this man on Chris Matthews show and have him faceoff these media morons and shut them up for once. Most of these people have never even served and dont have a clue about AWOL. You dont get a honorable discharge if you go AWOL.

When I got out of the Army, I mentioned some of the 100+ hour work weeks in a conversation. The people involved thought I must have gotten some pretty good overtime. I, of course, was stunned that they would think that the members of military get overtime pay

That's a great letter, but it doesn't address the time period the foaming-at-the-mouth liberals are questioning which is May 1972 to May 1973.

Vietnam Vets Against John Kerry web site asserts that Kerry murdered civilians in Vietnam. Visit my tag line and look in the opinion section for links. Put them here if you want to. I'm not good at html except for pictures.

"Do not confuse that with saying President Bush should not be asked about his service. The point is he's been asked....and asked....and asked...and asked. Also has provided documents. They are seeking to trump something up against him, plain and simple."

This is sounding like conspiratorial paranoia. A free press is obligated to dig and probe for the truth. Otherwise we should just nationalize the press and make it a mouthpiece of the government. Surely you don't want that do you?

Once again, I owe you.

Thanks for the PING. I love reading stuff that's going to be on Rush later in the day. Its nice to have background information. :)

My unreformed_republican husband gets jealous when I tell him, "Oh, that's so old. I read that three days ago," when "breaking" news comes on.

"Also we need to remember what GWB said sunday, war against the terrorists is always the first thing that is on his mind. Better to have that than someone thinking about who going to service him under the desk."

You've got that right!

I was reading posts and noticed you are currently in the Navy. THANK YOU!

I've always known that Terry was a jerk, and perhaps evil, but when I heard him say that the Guard is NOT the military, I thought.........That guy is the STUPIDEST person on earth!

*****

This is exactly what I told my sister yesterday. He has absolutely no idea about so many things.

I do not know how he made his money, because he is SO out of touch with the real world of Americans.

Too late. Clinton did that in 1993.

"the press are supposed to dig and probe for the truth", those islamofascist apologists don't care about the truth. You're either naive or a DU troll, please wake up because they dig up dirt on our side and conceal dirt for their side and yes they chose sides in 1952.

I know what you mean. And to be honest, sometimes I get confused about WHEN I heard or read something on here and I'm like, "Huh? That's OLD news." We are so far ahead of the curve, "their" news if "our" old news!

Ive noticed Lurch is already trying to back away from this false AWOL accusation.

Yes. This hypocrite last Sunday making a big fuss about the issue, extolling its legitimacy, and yesterday claiming, "who, me?" Sadly, the media will let him get away with this hypocrisy.

The Bush critics do not comprehend the dangers of fighter aviation at any time or place, in Vietnam or at home, when they say other such pilots were risking their lives or even dying while Lt. Bush was in Texas. Our Texas ANG unit lost several planes right there in Houston during Lt. Bush's tenure, with fatalities. Just strapping on one of those obsolescing F-102s was risking one's life.<p?The left doesn't understand military service period. They think that serving honorably, as Kerry did, and then returning home and turning sides against your former comrades is a good record.

You didn't read Treason by Ann Coulter. The correct response is, "Well, if it means that much to you . . ."

It pacifies them and makes them go away.
