[history]
'Bush and I were lieutenants'
George Bush and I were lieutenants and pilots in the 111th Fighter Interceptor Squadron (FIS), Texas Air National Guard (ANG) from 1970 to 1971. We had the same flight and squadron commanders (Maj. William Harris and Lt. Col. Jerry Killian, both now deceased). While we were not part of the same social circle outside the base, we were in the same fraternity of fighter pilots, and proudly wore the same squadron patch.

It will come at a huge price to Kerry- I firmly believe he has lost a good chunk of Vet support, as well as military folks. That is undoubtedly true. I think that a nice safe 52-48 percent loss to Pres. Bush is what the Clintons are angling for. If, on the other hand, Sen. Kerry manages to gain a lead in the polls, look for something to 'drop' concerning his anti-War activities in the last 2 weeks of the campaign -- a la Bush's DUI story.
If you dust for prints on the knife in Kerry's back, they will be Hillary's.

This letter NEEDS to make Rush's program and Hannity's too! True..that's the ONLY way it will be heard.
How does one get a letter to Rush? I know he has the rush@eibnet but I figure all of those go into the waste basket.
Maybe you gotta be a 24/7 subscriber to get through or have a 'private' email.

Very well written. I do hope it was not prompted by anyone. As usual it will not be acknowledged by the media.

Col. Campenne, sir, thank you for your well stated defense of the President's Guard service. This will add a lot to stem the tide of extreme negativism flooding the media from the Left.
Thank you for your service to our country.
To: RichardW
Good. Where have you placed today's goalposts?

To: RichardW
Bush should have spoken to this earlier as it would have provided the context of his last few months.
BS. NOTHING will ever satisfy the lying, traitorous democrats.

Absolutely, Are they trying to get rid of him now....or just plant seed so he'll have to withdraw later and "Hillary can save the party/convention"?

Terry and Co have insulted the Guard and Reserves and their families....Mike's unit having lost 3 crewmembers in an RPG attack on their Chinook, then being told that they are not military, is a slap in the face to their families.....I would like an apology, but will never get it.

This Bush AWOL thing makes me sick, and it defies common sense. Bush's father was a combat pilot in WWII who was shot down in enenmy territory. His service and courage are unquestionable.
It's hard to imagine a man like that raising his son to avoid service or shirk his duty. I'm sure W signed up to be a fighter pilot because of the environment he grew up in at home.
RAT Urban Legend: Bush the elder, who was a lowly congressman at the time, used his "great" influence so his son could avoid the same kind of duty he so selflessly gave himself? Rubish. If he had any influece at all, it was more likely to get his son into flight school, so he could follow in his own footsteps.

This gold.Agreed BIG TIME! Thanks so much for posting it. Col. Campinni's fact-filled letter and 3 hours of FOX News folks on C-Span this morning have made my day!
Jeff, can you inform the WH of this primary source PROOF?
To: BigBobber
Correct.
As for the DUers...
*crickets*
Strangely silent over there regarding this new piece of information.

I keep wondering are the media just completely deluded or just plain dumb. According to them in Iraq we are surrounded and ready to give up and at home the bread lines keep getting longer and longer.

Richmond ping. Just in case you guys haven't seen this.
I, for one, am sick of bashing the President on a this non-starter of an issue.
I did hear some guy (a Dem, I can't remember his name) on Fox and Friends this morning who said that if the Repubs lay off picking on Kerry about his voting record, the Dems will lay off the NG issue. I hope the Reps. grow a spine and tell Terry McAwful to take a hike.
