[history]
'Bush and I were lieutenants'
George Bush and I were lieutenants and pilots in the 111th Fighter Interceptor Squadron (FIS), Texas Air National Guard (ANG) from 1970 to 1971. We had the same flight and squadron commanders (Maj. William Harris and Lt. Col. Jerry Killian, both now deceased). While we were not part of the same social circle outside the base, we were in the same fraternity of fighter pilots, and proudly wore the same squadron patch.

I've always known that Terry was a jerk, and perhaps evil, but when I heard him say that the Guard is NOT the military, I thought.........That guy is the STUPIDEST person on earth!
Man, I hope this whole thing turns around and bites the Rats (and Kerry, who put the Guard at the level of draft dodging) hard.
It's been disgusting!

Thanks for the ping! John F'onda Kerry, the Benedict Arnold of Nam, has stepped into this huge cow pattie.
It is up to us via the internet to keep the cow pattie fresh and stinking for Kerry right through the election.

This needs to be sent to that jackall David Gregory of NBC news. I dunno what a jackall is but I do know what a jackass and a jacko*f are and this A$$hole fits both categories.
He needs some serious 'protocol and basic manners' instructions.

Good letter.
That should satisfy the critics.
But it won't.

"Who was it yesterday that wanted someone who served with the President to come forward??"
That was me. This is a good start. Bush should have spoken to this earlier as it would have provided the context of his last few months.
To: Petronski
Does anyone know how long Kerry actually served? I know he got out early too, but as I recall,is term was rather shorter.

There is one problem though. This guy served with the President from 1970-71 in Texas. If somebody comes forward from Alabama, it would be much better. I don't think there is a dispute that the President served honorably in 70-71. The big sticking point is what happened when he went to Alabama to work on the political campaign.
I can't believe that you missed the point of Col. Campenni's letter. Why is it necessary to have someone come forward from Alabama? You are like the Dems who constantly move the goal posts. Col Campenni addressed the Alabama issue as follows:
Excusals for employment were common then and are now in the Air Guard, as pilots frequently are in career transitions, and most commanders (as I later was) are flexible in letting their charges take care of career affairs until they return or transfer to another unit near their new employment. Sometimes they will transfer temporarily to another unit to keep them on the active list until they can return home. The receiving unit often has little use for a transitory member, especially in a high-skills category like a pilot, because those slots usually are filled and, if not filled, would require extensive conversion training of up to six months, an unlikely option for a temporary hire.
As a commander, I would put such "visitors" in some minor administrative post until they went back home. There even were a few instances when I was unaware that they were on my roster because the paperwork often lagged. Today, I can't even recall their names. If a Lt. Bush came into my unit to "pull drills" for a couple of months, I wouldn't be too involved with him because I would have a lot more important things on my table keeping the unit combat ready.
I am sure if someone from Alabama speaks up, there will another requirement levied, e.g., there needs to at least two persons to corroborate the story.

Man, I hope this whole thing turns around and bites the Rats (and Kerry, who put the Guard at the level of draft dodging) hard. Trust me. It already has. Think of our brave men and women in Iraq, and how they must feel knowing that McAwful and Kerry don't think they are 'really' serving. Both Kerry and Terry blew it. BIG TIME- which is probably why Republicans and Bush have been so quiet. They know why liberals hate guns so much- because they keep shooting themselves in the foot!
To: Petronski; All
We ALL need to write letters to the editor in ALL our local papers about this, and the whole Kerry situation.
Then entire communities would get the word, and not just the news junkies like us........

That's the beauty of e-mail. I mainly watch Fox and most of the major media will never give this a whiff but we can over and through the filter of media bias.
