Newsbrief about President Bush's Service
FoxNews ^

Posted on 02/10/2004 10:08:36 AM PST by xzins

The reporters are belligerently denying the validity of the President's records that now show his service.

One mentioned an evaluation where the comment, "He was not observed at this unit" is made by the 2 deceased superior officers.

NOT OBSERVED AT THIS UNIT means that his duty performance was not observed for the purpose of evaluation.

It doesn't mean that he wasn't there!

McClellan is not thinking fast on his feet.

He is doing fine. No one but Ari could do better under this barrage.

The point is to remain calm against the media getting angrier and angrier. If he loses his temper, he loses everything.

Something else interesting about the way that at least FOX is broadcasting this McClellan presser is that ONLY McClellan is being shown. There have been no camera cuts to the reporters, so that we see exactly who is asking and harrassing.

We have to rely on whether or not Scott calls them by name or if we recognize the reporters voices.

"It was even more than the questions themselves. Was it my imagination or were they asking their questions in a belligerent tone, insulting in their interrupting follow-ups, and sneering in their appearances?.."

That's an understatement, Xzins - - for sure! Again, I've never seen ANYTHING like this. This is an assault on the President of the United States by the Washington Press Corps. It's not a simple request for elaboration. It is an attack on this Administration's core credibility.

Bill Clinton was impeached. He lied straight faced to the American people AND the Press corp, but I never saw anything CLOSE to this kind of harrassment of Clinton's Press Secretary.

"McClellan ought to ask some of these reporters if they will make public their own pay records from the Kerry campaign"

I think Mr.Bush would be well served to get a new press spokesperson. I don't intend to discredit Mr. McClellan, but for now a change might help?

Actually, I don't know why Bush joined the Guard, he put more time in by going to flight school and monthly training than he would have if he had been drafted. Of course, he probably wouldn't have been able to get flight training as a draftee without agreeing to an extension.

McClellan is not thinking fast on his feet.

This is the first time I've observed McClellan in a briefing. This is pathetic. WHY is he and the White House being SO DEFENSIVE about this! How many times can he say the same thing over and over.

I can't believe the WH has allowed the democrats to put them on a defensive mode about things that don't matter! Or defensive about ANYTHING! Bush as a great record to run on. He doesn't need to keep defending this stuff.

I've got bad news. It's going to be like this every single day until November 2nd. The press hates Bush and will do every last thing in their power to see that he is not re-elected.

I don't know, Prairie. It seems to me they've been attacking President Bush every cotton pickin' day since January 20, 2001. I'm of the opinion that this country's biggest danger is the mainstream media.

"... I'm quite glad I'm not watching because I think my head would explode..."

LOL! A wise decision, mpls. I now understand why Bush has chosen not to do many press conferences. Why subject himself to this kind of hyperpartisan harrassment?

If Bubba had been pressed this hard on several of his issues, we'd be in a much better place as a country today.

If they had relentlessly pursued a topic that deserves it, clinton would have been impeached before the '96 campaign for the fundraising/Riady/Huang, etc. scandal.

To focus and then react in this unseemly manner on this topic is shameful. They are disgusting.

I just sent an email to Tom Brokaw of NBC Nightly News and voiced my feelings about this horrible White House Briefing. I am totally appalled. David Gregory was especially sickening. I am just sick to my stomach right now. I hope all of you will email nightly@nbc.com and do the same.

You are correct, sir! WHEN WILL THE WHITE HOUSE GET A CLUE AND FIND SOMEONE WHO CAN ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS INTELLIGENTLY??? "Not observed" is a standard eval catagory for a reservist who does resched drills and thus is not at enough regularly scheduled drills for purposes of a FITREP.

THE WHITE HOUSE IS GOING TO BLOW THIS ELECTION BY BEING TOO PASSIVE. "HELLO? HELLO? ANYONE HOME, MCFLY?"

I had MSNBC on and saw the reporters' faces. God help me, I almost wish I hadn't except to know who the enemy was. Faces twisted with sheer hate. Like a vampire shown a cross, the documents ruined their big scandal.

Ah, Rummy up on Fox.

Soothing....
