France just squandered all of the goodwill they had in the Arab world. Works for me! Perhaps their skewed vision of the world will start to fade away...

Further information: The bill must also pass the Senate. Every indication is that this will also occur on a wide margin in the near future.

I'm divided over this issue. I think it should be ok, as long as it doesn't cover their faces entirely. This will lead to further intrusion on other religions I am afraid.

Sounds like a little backpeddling to show the world they aren't altogether pro-Arab. Amusing.

The Muslims have said that they believe this to be a direct shot at their religion. Even though other religions are included in the new law.

and we have to, and will, help them..for two reasons..first, it makes life hard for Kerry and McAuliffe, and second, the main reason..tis a far better thing that future battles in the War on Terror are fought in France..rather than on US soil...

France won't be hassling us for a long while now.

Coming to a country near you. This one perhaps. This is scary stuff. The law also bans skull caps. And Christian symbols if they are deemed too large.
The new national socialism is arising.

This will lead to further intrusion on other religions I am afraid. That's the whole point: they've been applying the same secular standards to other religious displays for years.

Some are more equal than others in the strange land of France.
I have read over and over that Mohammed never told Muslim women to wear headscarves; that the practice is merely a social custom. Therefore, one could argue that the ban is a cultural war, not a religious one.
At any rate, the ban is a grand challenge to Islam as it makes its foray into the civilized world.

France is a deer caught in the headlights, reacting too slowly and jumping the wrong way. Splat! is in its future.

It's an interesting view of their priorities, isn't it? They're afraid of going after megamaniacs and terrorist states but get their panties in a wad over a scarf.

The new national socialism is arising. He he he he -- France is hoisted on its petard. Hyper-Political Correctness collides with Hyper-Xenophobia.
This is almost as much fun as watching the Demoncrats try to select a presidential candidate.
And this is all FREE! You can't PAY for this much entertainment!
