Question For FREEPers: Could Saddam's Trial in Iraq Coincide With Democrat Convention?

The Democrats are slated to hold their convention in Beantown July 26-29 of this year.

I believe the date for the "handover" to the Iraqis is currently slated at June 30...though Coalition troops may stay in the country.

My question: how likely is it that Saddam's trial may start within 30 days of the new government taking shape? The Gallup poll just released some info that said Americans were extremely interested in watching the Saddam trial.

Wouldn't it be a wonderful turn of events if Saddam's trial took away the bulk of media and public attention from the 'rats Coronation Ceremony? I wonder if the turnover date--just in time to allow the Iraqis to put Saddam on trial--is a wonderful coincidence. :)

Trial should start one week after Iraq's sovereignty is restored in July. Each week should have a new focus:

1. Crimes against the environment (setting wells on fire, draining the marshlands, diverting rivers, pumping oil into the Gulf during Desert Storm)
2. Crimes against political prisoners. Murder, torture, rape, putting human beings into shredders, all the things that endeared him to the Left.
3. Crimes against relatives of political prisoners (ripping eyes out of infants, crucifying young boys, rape, murder, torture)
4. Wars of agression (Iran, Kuwait)
5. Genocide - Kurs, Shia, Iranians, Kuaitis
6. Development and use of chemical & bio weapons
7. Findings and Verdict
8. Sentencing
9. Execution

   That should dominate coverage for the Summer. By the end, everyone who supported Saddam should be viewed as co-conspirators to the Devil. This would include the Democrat nominee.
