CHARLESTON -- A woman who told police her marijuana was stolen faces a felony drug charge.

Shane N. Walker, 25, of Charleston, faces a count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance after Charleston Police found 3 ounces of marijuana inside a gym bag belonging to her boyfriend's brother, according to a complaint filed Friday in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.

Walker also told police she sells the drug and showed authorities a collection of plastic sandwich bags in which she stores the substance.

She told police that she thought her boyfriend was hiding more than 3 ounces of marijuana belonging to her. Authorities contacted the man, who agreed to have his brother turn over the drug.

She told police that she thought her boyfriend was hiding more than 3 ounces of marijuana belonging to her.

Was this after she had rolled her last ounce into one giant doobie and done it all herself?

"Everyone knows POT makes you STUPID."

Actually, this only proves that some very stupid people sell pot. Some very stupid people pick daisies, cut out paper dolls, run for President, whatever. As to whether pot actually makes you stupid, I understand that extensive research is now being done on that question in southern California:<)

I'm not sure this is any laughing matter. I get the feeling that this woman is one of many contemporary lowlifes who moves in world where drug sales and use is so widespread and out in the open, and contact with the civilized, productive world so minimal, that many of its inhabitants have no idea it's illegal.

contact with the civilized, productive world so minimal

How does that follow? The stupefying drug alcohol is legal in the civilized, productive world.

Sounds like prohibitionist talk to me. Alcohol has been proven to be good for you, in moderation like everything else.

If everything is good for you in moderation, why ban anything?

Sorry, I should have said "almost everything else". I would not include illegal drugs.

My point was that a certain class of people have no idea that there's a difference in the legal status of marijuana vs. alcohol. The fact that there's no rational basis for the difference may be a contributing factor, but these people's lack of contact with that portion of society which has a clue, is likely the main factor.

Agreed---my point was that said portion's cluefulness is not identical to being "civilized and productive."
