Arkansas is the shame of the south. Bush will have to fight hard to hold the state. It is actually trending RAT while the rest of the south trends the other way.
To: Carolinamom
Oh Lord. What's getting me mad today, is they're making the contests in Tennessee and Virginia tomorrow the litmus test for Kerry in the South. I mean, come on! He lost in SC and he'll never win Southern states when all voters vote. His strength among democrats means NOTHING. They have a sheep mentality. Sheeeesh.

Good post, Meek. We (you) need a ping list for "Southerners." HINT.

I want to see Edwards LOSE in Virginia and Tennesee, thus proving that he cannot win in the South, but the dark side of it is that Kerry would look like a winner. I honestly cannot see either winning the South in November, but there are some jelly-brain dems who will probably vote for the D since they recognize the grade they got in school as "passing."

"...but there are some jelly-brain dems who will probably vote for the D since they recognize the grade they got in school as "passing.""
LOL! That's hilarious. Regrettably, it's true.

"LOL and you come across as if on a bad acid trip."
If you can remember the 60's, then you didn't live through them. . .
Anyway, I'm just picturing what you described:
"Picture a world where the Republicans hold the majority of congressional seats, where the Republicans hold a filibuster proof senate, where the Supreme Court has at least a 6-3 advantage towards conservative judges, a world where the vast majority of governorships are held by Republicans. "
My point is, how would things be different if they were in the majority? Bush has not tried to do anything significantly different from the Democrats in many areas, the main difference being the War on Terror.
Are you thinking that if we got this majority in the Senate that all of a sudden Bush would start leading with a much more conservative stance? I don't see that happening, what I see is a 60-vote majority and more of the same ol', same ol, from the last couple of decades.
Can you offer some reason you think that things would be significantly more like you described them in your vision than what I described has happened in reality?
Yes, we are better off with Bush and a block of 60 senators in the Senate, but this would not be any paradise, not if the last 3 decades are any example.

Thanks ! Southerners ping list, huh ? hehe !
Hmmm ... gotta think about that, thanks.

Electoral Totals: Rat gets 291, Bush gets 247. If Dubya signs the AWB and Kerry picks Gephardt (who brings in OH and MO) for VP, this result coming to pass becomes quite possible.

Do I smell a conspircay here? You'll need to be a bit less cryptic if you're looking for an answer.

"My parents, grandparents, and great grandparents were all Democrats. My children are all Republicans."Doesn't mean much. Both parties have changed over time. I'll bet your democrat grandparents were more conservative than your republican children are now.

This can happen. All it takes is 60 Senate seats.Better shoot for 70,There is more than a few RINOs in the Senate.

It means a lot.
Yes, both parties have changed. My mother became a Republican shortly before she died in her '70's. If they were alive today, they would repudiate the Democrat Party thoroughly and completely.

Missouri, New Mexico, and Ohio are listed as D in that list. I do not believe any of the 3 will vote for Kerry no matter who is the Veep. Not even if the Veep were FROM the State.
