One of Sen. John Kerry's celebrity supporters is ready to pull out all the stops to get him elected. Republicans are shrieking over a suggestion by rocker Moby that Democrats spread gossip about President Bush on the Internet. "No one's talking about how to keep the other side home on Election Day," Moby tells us. "It's a lot easier than you think and it doesn't cost that much. This election can be won by 200,000 votes." Moby suggests that it's possible to seed doubt among Bush's far-right supporters on the Web.
"You target his natural constituencies," says the Grammy-nominated techno-wizard. "For example, you can go on all the pro-life chat rooms and say you're an outraged right-wing voter and that you know that George Bush drove an ex-girlfriend to an abortion clinic and paid for her to get an abortion.
"Then you go to an anti-immigration Web site chat room and ask, 'What's all this about George Bush proposing amnesty for illegal aliens?'"
Moby didn't claim that he believed the abortion story.
Last month, Bush did propose reforms to immigration policy. But he insisted, "I oppose amnesty, placing undocumented workers on the automatic path to citizenship [because it] perpetuates illegal immigration."
Republican National Committee spokeswoman Christine Iverson likened Moby's proposal to "dirty campaign tactics we're already seeing from John Kerry."
"His campaign was willing to use these kinds of voter suppression tactics against members of his own party in Iowa and New Hampshire," Iverson says. "John Kerry is a hypocrite. He pledged to run a clean campaign. Then he uses the lowest form of gutter politics to impugn his opponents, Democratic and Republican. It's unfortunate but this is probably just the beginning of the kind of tactics we're going to be seeing from John Kerry in the months to come."
Kerry spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter said, "I doubt that Moby was suggesting anybody suppress the vote. We did not use any dirty tactics against any candidate.
"When it comes to dirty tricks the Republic party wrote the book. We've already seen Republican attacks and we haven't even won the nomination yet. The Republican Party is clearly afraid of John Kerry."

The problem that Moby faces, other than looking like Uncle Fester's love child attempting to be initiated into the Michael Stipe fan club, is that he assumes every other constituency is as abjectly stupid as those in the party he belongs to.
Moby belongs to a party with youth who are largely undecided until watching MTV's "Rock the Vote" specials, meaning that everything they know about global events they learned from Limp Bizkit and Korn.
Moby belongs to a party that stops by a convenience store in a bus, fills it with more zeros than the deck of an aircraft carrier in Yamamoto's fleet, and takes them to the polls-- A busload of people willing to sell out one of their greatest rights and privileges as an American in return for a pint of Yukon Jack.
Moby belongs to a party with a southern Florida chapter that can't use a stylus without poking their own eyes out or accidentally voting for Buchanan.
In short, Moby is surrounded by many, many baffoons, so we can't blame him for assuming that everybody is just like his friends. He's way off base, however.

You know, the sad thing is that we see again and again the leftists doing something descpicable, then claiming it was the Republicans that did it...
Not any different than the palestinian terrorists...
My favorite example of this are the Willie Horton ads... Funny, it was Al Gore's campaign who brought up Wille Horton in the first place.

Crossposters are fine.I have ,however,no respect, indeed have utter disdain for the crossposters using different names who post here, only to go to TOS and trash FR,freepers by name, freepers in general or JR (and incidently almost always trash the President).JMHO
I know one is "out damned spot".If you can't keep your criticisms here on this site, in the family, why post here at all?

It's not really hard to tell if it's one of Moby's friends, they not only criticize, they attack.

But over in DU, that is one of their first rules. No Republicans! You will be banned and your comments removed and don't even try to register under a different name. You will be detected. Blah Blah Blah. And its so hard to read their hate filled posts filled with lies and stereotypes like republicans hate women, that sort of garbage. You want to say something back so bad. But I tried to post back one day and the password they gave me didn't work so I notified them and haven't heard back from them. I know everyone is going to try to be nice to posters on this sight but JimRob did say this forum is for getting Bush re-elected so whats the harm in just ignoring anyone who critisizes the president and not rise to the bait? And even if responsible people try to debate with them, what good is it doing? If they feel that way then why publisize it unless you are trying to change other peoples minds? Just some things to think about. Maybe we shouldn't be so nice to them. We aren't going to get any credit from them for being nice.

Yes! And I wish Eminem was here to slap him down. As "M" famously said, "I will hit a man with glasses."
I'm a conservative who disagrees with GWB's immigration plan. I don't know Moby.
And who was that Brit on the Grammy's who said "This is for Johnny Cash and John Kerry..."? Weird.

Fox also talking about WMD and AWOL story. Gen Vallely said that the President said we did not find WMD in Iraq - hinted that they have been found elsewhere and will be revealed in 2-3 months.

Not always at first. The clever ones say how deeply saddened they are(even though they voted for Bush, always voted Republican, yada, yada) or even angry about this policy or that..it can take awhile before insults are hurled and the President is thoroughly attacked.

Moby wouldn't want nasty rumors about him spread, now would he? Surely you're not going to bring up that story about him hanging out in public restrooms with George Michael.

>I think some of Moby's friends are already here.
You can see these types of calls to talk radio, internet posters etc.. right before any election. They are designed to dispirit conservatives and to get them from participating in the election.
An example of such a seminar posters is: "I'm a conservative but I'm sitting this election out...."
To: kattracks
I think some of Moby's friends are already here.Agreed.....
