Democratic Party officials are hoping that no photographs exist of a well-covered Vietnam War protest where soldier-hating actress Jane Fonda and Democratic presidential front-runner John Kerry, then and up-and-coming member of Vietnam Veterans Against the War, railed against U.S. war policy from the back of the same pick-up truck.
"Scores of newspaper articles about the march" exist, according to Kerry biographer Douglas Brinkley.
Dubbed "Operation RAW" [Rapid American Withdrawal], the Sept. 1970 march featured Fonda, Kerry and a motley band of anti-war vets in an eighty-six mile trek from Morristown, New Jersey and Valley Forge, Pennsylvania - two Revolutionary War sites.
According to "Tour of Duty," Brinkley's book on Kerry's war years, when the protesters reached their destination they were treated to Fonda standing on the bed of a pick-up truck, where she "denounced the Nixon administration as a beehive for cold blooded killers."
"Marijuana was in the air," said Brinkley. "Skinny dippers frolicked in the Delaware River. . . [The group's] long hair, ripped jeans, army surplus store canteens, and toy guns gave the VVAW the look of a ragtag band of Haight-Ashbury refugees. . .
"Along the marching route, veterans would shout out phrases like 'Kill him!' and 'Cut his belly open' for dramatic effect," said Brinkley.
Others who spoke that day proclaimed the U.S. guilty of "genocide" in Southeast Asia.
Kerry followed Fonda's Nixon denunciation with a rousing anti-war address that made him "the new leader of Vietnam Veterans Against the War," Brinkley said. "From Valley Forge onward, [Kerry] was a committed anitwar activist. . ."
From there, Kerry went on to Detroit to organize a particularly offensive bit of guerrilla theater dubbed "The Winter Soldier Investigation," where Fonda presided as U.S. war atrocities were chronicled by "soldiers" who some later suspected were impostors.
After Winter Soldier, writes Brinkley, "Fonda personally adopted [Kerry's Vietnam Veterans Against the War] as her leading cause."

Not jackson, but in the county.
On the other hand the "under the oaks" monument on franklin street, does claim to be the birthplace of the republican party.

If we can't find an original photo, certainly Photoshop can produce a version. Nah, we don't need to stoop to Democrap tactics.

It would be amusing to put him with Jane Fonda and his anti war protests and next to that picture one where he is receiving awards for his performance in View Nam. I believe he got the purple heart ... .
May the real John Kerry please stand up (and explain).

1996 : (SENATOR JOHN KERRY MEETS LIU CHAOYING, VP OF A SUBSIDIARY OF CHINA'S GOVERNMENT OWNED CHINA AEROSPACE CORP & DAUGHTER OF A CHINESE MILITARY OFFICIAL, TRADES FAVORS FOR CASH, PLUS CHINA GETS MISSILE TECHNOLOGY) In 1996 Kerry met with Liu Chaoying, the daughter of a powerful Chinese military official who also doubled as vice president of a subsidiary of the state-owned China Aerospace Corp. Before the meeting, held in Kerry's Senate office, Liu's sponsor, Johnny Chung, made clear she was interested in getting her company listed on the U.S. Stock Exchange. The Democratic presidential front-runner was only too happy to oblige and ordered his aides to contact the Securities and Exchange Commission. "The next day," reports Newsweek, "Liu and Chung were ushered into a private briefing with a senior SEC official." Within weeks, Chung returned the favor, staging a Kerry fund raiser at a Beverly Hills hotel that raked in $10,000 for the senator's re-election campaign.
Bank records would later show that Kerry's Chinese campaign cash came from $300,000 in overseas wire transfers sent to Chung on orders from the chief of Chinese military intelligence, Newsweek reports. The money was routed through a Hong Kong bank account controlled by Liu, whose company later benefited from waivers granted by the Clinton administration to the U.S. aerospace giant Loral Corp. As Liu and Chung were lining the pockets of the Democratic Party's political elite, Loral handed over top-secret missile guidance technology to Liu's firm. Liu's China Aerospace used the information to perfect Beijing's fleet of intercontinental ballistic missiles, which before the 1990s could not strike the U.S. By the end of the decade, however, China's ICBMs could reach the entire continental United States with pinpoint accuracy, thanks in part to the senator who says now he can be trusted with America's national security.
Chung later testified that before Liu wired him the cash to contribute to prominent Democrats, the chief of Chinese intelligence personally told him: "We like your president. We want to see him re-elected." Apparently, Beijing felt the same way about Sen. John Kerry.- "Kerry Took Cash From Chinese Military Intelligence," by Carl Limbacher, NewsMax, Monday, Feb. 2, 2004

Most people seem to believe that the recent comments by Terry McAuliffe and John Kerry on President Bush's service in the National Guard are a full-bore attack designed to underscore Kerry's hero status, sow seeds of disrespect against the President and feed "red meat" to the Howard Dean "antiwar/anti-Bush" clique. I choose to take both men at their words in this matter. They are clearly firing "warning shots" at the President's political advisors. The Democrats are desperately afraid that Kerry's anti-American, anti-Vietnam veteran words and deeds, many recorded on film and on audio and video tape, will see the light of day in this campaign. In his misspent, post-Vietnam youth Kerry was remarkably vocal about his opposition to "American Imperialism", and never missed a chance to get in front of a microphone or camera. Of course there are also his Senate votes to weaken our military and intelligence services. The "truth is out there", and it would make great grist for the campaign advertising mill, if the Bush people don't let Kerry and the Democrats intimidate them into ignoring the "downside" of Kerry's not-so heroic or patriotic activities.
