Statement from John Kerry Regarding Bush’s Comments on “Meet the Press”

February 08, 2004

For Immediate Release

“This morning on ‘Meet the Press,’ President Bush said his decision to go to war with Iraq when he did was because Saddam Hussein had ‘the ability to make weapons.’ This is a far cry from what he and his Administration told the American people in 2002. (Lie #1) Back then, President Bush repeatedly told the American people that Saddam Hussein ‘has got chemical weapons.’ And it was on that basis that he sent America's sons and daughters marching off to war. (Lie #2)

“The problem is not just that President Bush is changing his story now—it is that it appears he was telling the American people stories in 2002. (Lie #3) President Bush told America that Iraq had chemical weapons two months after his own Defense Intelligence Agency told him that there was—quote—‘no reliable information on whether Iraq is producing and stockpiling chemical weapons.’ And, as President Bush backpedaled from the imminent threat in Iraq (Lie #4), he needs to remember that his rush to war in Iraq (Lie #5) moved us away from capturing Osama bin Laden, starting at Tora Bora.

“George Bush needs to take responsibility for his actions and set the record straight. (Truth #1: Yes, Bush does need to set the Lies of Kerry sraight) That's the very least that Americans should be able to expect from the President of the United States. Either he believed Saddam Hussein had chemical weapons—or he didn't. Americans need to be able to trust their President—and they deserve the truth. (Truth #2, but then every political leader on this planet told us Saddam had chemical weapons and it is almost certain that he did)

“I hope that—in light of this new information today—President Bush will not only immediately agree to testify before his Intelligence Commission, but will clearly and precisely tell the American people what he knew when he launched the Iraq War and why what he is saying today is so very different.”

They want the President to testify to give the impression to the public that President Bush has committed some kind of crime.

Yep, the Dems like playing these sleezy little games, especially in election years. There is no level too low for Dems to stoop.

"There is no level too low for Dems to stoop."

The lady in red, and dimpled chads proved this. Russert's one hour attack on Bush is indicative of what we are in for. It is going to be vicious....bet on it!

The Lies of John Kerry

There isn't a web site big enough to chronicle the lies of John Kerry.

Kerry voted for the war in Iraq then once they were on the battlefield he voted against funding them.
Kerry claimed he was "mislead". I have read an article and posts where Kerry had claimed to be mislead on other votes as well and that this seems to be a pattern. I am now looking for this article or post but have been unable to find. If this is true about Kerry then obviously the "buck never will stop here". Definitely NOT presidential material.

Thanks for posting this.

Kerry's lying and hypocrisy is breathtaking.

If WMD were found tomorrow he would resort back to claiming he supported the war and that Saddam's WMD were a real threat.

Our National Enquirer arrived two days ago here in Guam. Coincidently a USN ship was inport with a Boston native who stopped by the office. She looked at me like I was a moron. Apparently most of this stuff (like the resume drop off) has been common knowledge for years in MA. I never would have voted for him anyway, but know I'm even more surprised what a bigger knucklehead he is. I'm sure we'll see more. Semper Fidelis.
