Help defeat the Rat talking point that we've lost 2.2 million jobs. The truth is quite different:

From Rush on Friday:

I've got a story today from Investors Business Daily. You know, I was tempted to fire off a note to Bill Schneider today but it wouldn't matter. The fact of the matter is we had this number back in I guess it was either September or November, I'm not sure which. Well, it would have been November, yeah, latter part of November. Somebody ran some numbers, the net job loss at that time was 330,000. The number of jobs lost versus the number of jobs created led to a net loss then over the three years of 200 and some odd thousand, 300,000, 330, and that's slowly being wiped out now with the new job creation that's happening with our roaring economy which is leading the world out of its recession, that's not being reported here.

The Investors Business Daily today has a story by Jed Graham, "For nearly a year a debate has been brewing over which of the government's employment measures is wrong. Monthly payroll figures derived from a survey of 160,000 employers show a net loss of 537,000 jobs the past two years. But, the monthly survey of about 60,000 households shows the U.S. has added 2.4 million jobs in that span." Well, we just heard CNN report there are two and a half million jobs lost. Now we find out from Investors Business Daily there are other government numbers that show 2.4 million jobs have been created.

Come on, folks, use your brains on this. This is an ever-expanding economy, I don't care whether we're in a down cycle or not we're always expanding. The population base is always expanding. We are pretty near the statistical full employment number anyway. It's just not logical to assume that all we do is lose jobs. And he didn't say on CNN net job loss, that's not what they're trying to do. They're trying to create the impression that there are two and a half people that used to work that don't because they can't. And that's not what happens. People find work and leave work all the time. It is a cycle, you know it yourself. This idea that there haven't been any jobs created, these guys that report this know this is all a bunch of bohunk but that doesn't fit the agenda, it doesn't fit what the purpose here is. This is to paint a picture of doom and gloom of the U.S. economy, going into this election season, because it matches what? It matches precisely the Democratic Party presidential election playbook. And it just isn't the case. It's the exact opposite.

The economy is roaring back. It's bringing the world back out of its global recession. There are jobs being created. We just had a story the other day of all the unreported self-employed jobs that these employment surveys do not cover. And there were 15 million jobs, net 15 million jobs that do not get reported as people employed in this country. Well, throw that in and it wipes out any of Bill Schneider or any other Democrat's number of two million or two and a half million jobs lost. All of this is a crock. This is the most powerful economic engine in America, and it's rolling, and it's expanding and it is growing. We are the wealthiest country on the face of the earth. To try to paint a picture of this country as a soup line, soup kitchen on the way to depression, is simply purposeful dishonesty, pure and simple.

Russert is sickening. (I'm just watching this no in Cali.) Every question is full of leftist assumptions. His question about not being greeted as liberators in Iraq was disgusting. Bush is looking great, Russert looks like an oaf.

LET'S bombard the White House with TONS of valentines cards telling W we love him!!!!!

I'm gonna do it!

Make them postcards too - that way they can be seen as 'hiding nothing' and sail right through the 'sort' facilities!

Dana Millbank's prediction (Chris likes to get his panel each week to give one): Now that the WMD panel isn't due to report until March 2005, expect an October surprise of a vial of something or other to be found to hint the president was right.

MM, pinging you, as I know your assessment of Millbank. I took his "prediction" as along the lines of Maddie's "Is OBL on hold somewhere".

BTW, the Kay woman with the BBC said her inside scoop was some guy with CBS (I missed the name!) who is credited with getting Letterman from NBC over to CBS might be named as the next head of the BBC.

Showing the Time magazine--"love him or hate him."

TR: why do you think you are perceived as such a divider?

GW: I don't know. I was successful in Texas bringing people together. The environment here in Wash is such that it's tough to find common ground. But I'll continue to work hard to unite the country. I don't speak ill of my colleagues. I talk about what I believe in, and about my beliefs...

TR: 70% unfavorable in France and Germany

GW: Mentions RR--"good company"--but I won't accomodate that. I am not gonig to change because of polls.

TR quotes a poll,

GW laughed.--you're bringing up a poll again.

TR quoting John Kerry--says he knew Bush. You were both in Skull and Bones, the secret society.

GW (laughs): It's so secret we can't talk about it.

I"m not gonna lose. I've got a vision for the country. i want to lead this great country to change the world in positive ways. I look forward to a good campaign, and I look forward to articulating what I want to do for the next four years."

>>He just looks like I can trust him

Exactly....

The WMD thing is coming entirely from the left....even though even they would have made the same decision.

The President must make CONSERVATIVE decisions - meaning in a 50-50 situation ...lean to the safe side.

If we still had an intact Irag today...the left would be peddling fear.....it's simply politics and it's dangerous to the US and the world.

No this is good. After Russert, every question is: "Asked and answered, next question?"

This interview will force the Media to shift tactics to another attack mode. Bush has snatched back the moral authority for the war.

Tim is a tough, professional guy and did his job well

Although I did not see the interview (just read what I could here), it does not appear that Tim is a tough, profeesioanl guy that is doing his job.

It seems to me...no documentation...just a gut feel...
SOFTBALLS TO DEMS AND HARDBALLS TO REPUBLICANS!!
Do you do your job well only half the time?...75% of the time? 90? (are you really a DR?)

Bush has a ton of money in the bank and he's going to spend it.

Tons of money that the media want the RNC to spend now, way before the election. Low Bush media polls are way to spook the RNC to shake out some early cash from the campaign war chest.

Now I'm wondering when the Dims and their supportive media are going to ask President Bush to agree to a lie detector test, live on CNN or something.

Russert and his ilk, are the same people, that if we suffered another horrific attack on our soil, would ask this President, why did you fail us? They are dispicable and a danger to this country. The dems not only want to weaken President Bush, they want to weaken this country, and are working hard to do just this.

Where were the questions on Khadaffi's capitulation? Where were the questions about breaking up the Pakistani nuclear proliferation ring?

One thing about answering the same question over and over------- if you are telling the truth, if you are not lying or spinning, or hedging or whatever, you will give the same answer.

Some (?like TR?) will hope to trip him up, but they can't. The President has nothing to hide, doesn't speak in riddles, ---- he just answers the questions - in the same way every time.

'They' might want to be able to say "Gotcha!" -- but they can't!

My girlfriend said something just now that I didnt see mentioned on this thread, which is "He just looks like I can trust him."

This is a woman who knows almost nothing about politics, which is true for MOST people in America.

You nailed it as to the success/failure of this interview. It is how this is viewed by the politically non-committed. With regard to those people I think that he is doing well.
