I'm still seething about that Edwards remark. This beginning and ending senator who has NOT represented NC is trying to get a job for which he is monumentally UNqualified.

I think you may have to wait until 11:30 then. It airs at 10:30 on the Detroit station, but I think that is 10:30 Central time.

20 minutes til I get to watch. From the sound of Russert's rude demeanor, I think I might be wishing I could afford to take a hammer to the TV!
Maybe I'll settle for writing Tim. Tell him (ask him) why he's not a big enough man to show due respect to the President of these United States.
Guess Tim didn't miss any of the DNC's selected questions.

Russert threw out the opening volley, and Bush said, whoa, wait a minute, let me give you background info first. That set the tone. Bush was not going to let Russert control the interview. And you're right about the interruptions. Russert looked childish. I agree. The President seemed strong and in control.

To the DemonRats we are the dark side. I usually enjoy taunting liberals by saying "Give yourself to the dark side. Become a Republican."

Gee... and he hasn't even said "Thank you, how could I post at FR and still be so ignorant?" yet!
What's up with that?
You don't think his question was... insincere, do you?

Yes, he certainly does. He sounded very presidential too.

I agree, too. President Bush is doing great in this interview.

It's just politics.

Russert, "Can you launch a pre-emptive attack without iron-clad evidence?"
Bush, "We can never have iron-clad intelligence. You memntion pre-emption...I went to the United Nations and said "here's what we know." When you say pre-emption you almost sound like you think I just decided to move. I went to the UN Security Council."
To: Keith
every one seems to forget that... Oddly enough, I think the fact that we forget it is one of Bush's biggest successes. That is, he gave the country enough confidence to pull up its socks and keep on going (and I think spending money was one of the ways it was done).
People have short memories, and many folks seem to have forgotten how devastated and shaky we felt right afterwards.
I never know whether it would be good for Bush to bring this up or not. (The press sure isn't going to do it.)

"With our current general (lack of) understanding, and the total media left bias, a conservative agenda is UN-ELECTABLE!"
Following your line of reasoning, people might consider that the President is the representative of all the people not just the conservatives. (As much as many of us would like to see.)
Coming off an election where he lost the popular vote and having a country at war with a big hole in the ground in New York City, I don't believe this is the correct time to ram conservativism down the nations throat. We need the determination of the entire country to deal with terrorism.
However, I do believe the President has planted many seeds that will allow conservatism go grow.

My Comment: ......I turned off my modem for the interview and walked away from the computer so I good give the President my undivided attention.........
That said..................I felt he did an incredible job on discussing the 'Hows and Whys' of his decisions over the last 3 years. Tim is a tough, professional guy and did his job well by asking very direct questions and probing afterwards. Three major areas seemed to be covered: 1) The War, 2) The Economy, and briefly 3) the coming Election. Bush was unflappable and either backed up all his statements or presented cogent counterarguements. The interview showed me that the man is FOCUSED, in the truest sense of the word, on his job and the current problems we are faced with. Personally, I am still apprehensive about the pork-spending and the absence of the use of a veto-pen in this regard. However, kudos to Mr. Bush on a sterling performance! What took you so long?
The worst I can say is what was NOT discussed: Immigration.

I think the President is a little tongue-tied and on the defensive. During the intelligence discussion he should have taken the opportunity to describe the condition of the intelligence apparatus he inherited from the Arky Bastard.

I loved how he pointed out that his administration inherited the recession.
To: StriperSniper
I nearly fell over to hear some clintonoid saying that Kerry has been so good on national defense during his time in the senate.
Actually, he has been good on national defense for our enemies!!

It's just politics. Perhaps you remember Reagan's response to outrageous accusations
"There you go again"
Same thing. Doesn't legitimize the question.
