Take it from me -- President Bush, the plain spoken man from Texas hit it out of the park up against a rabid, nasty, Clinton Talking point interviewer, Tim Russert. You are not being gracious enough to Tim Russert. Actually, he was every conservative's dream -- the type of media hack who charges up the base of the GOP. Bush came out looking great in comparison.Thank you, Mr. Russert, come back again real soon.
To: ilovew
I'll look for the exact quotes. But here's the short version.
Kerry is picked up the line about the president allegedly being AWOL while serving in the TX ANG. Which was debunked by the NY Times of all places two years ago.
Kerry likes to brag about how he 'actually saw combat'. Again trying to downplay and degrade President Bush's service.
And he like to say the President used his fathers connections to get into the ANG so he could avoid going to Vietnam.
Note to John F'n Kerry: ANG Pilots, including some from Texas flew fought and died in Vietnam. Just like they did in WW II and Korea. Being in the National Guard doesn't exempt you from combat. Just ask the Guard soldiers serving with me in Iraq today.

I do think 911 changed some minds, but not nearly enough. There are some who think if we just talk about it..all this terror business can be handled.Arrest the perps?
They want the military background but without the military action!
It isn't easy to send men into war.I take my approval of it carefully and prayerfully.Someone else is watching my back.

"Whoever thought up that little line was trying to juice up the subliminals, IMO."
If memory serves that was a Maureen "Michael Douglas DUMPED Me for KZJ" Dowd slander of the President. She was also also mocking his tendency to wear a Stetson and boots. Anyone who's ever been to Texas would know that's standard attire down there.

What makes you think it isn't Libby? (Not that I would not like to see Wilson get it.)
To: David1
David, you don't have this image in mind when you see President Bush debating the taller John Kerry, do you?
Thanks to "Larry at the Univ. of Massachusetts" for leaving this photo on the web. I, um, reduced the file size so it would load faster and am using it to illustrate a point. Even you, Larry, named the photo "short-guy" when we all know it is Robert Reich. And while Robert Reich is a really "short guy" he does articulate his [awful] point of view well and his intelligence gives him stature. (I said intelligence, not reasoning or wisdom, mind you. If he had either of those qualities, x42 wouldn't have appointed him as Secretary of Labor.)

I also feel your photo is out of place. Fixated, are we? Ever been around Johnny-one-notes? These are boring and tedious types who continue to rant when others have tuned them out.
To: onyx
Bob Sellers, Fox, just interviewed Robert Andrews, former CIA, and CONFIRMED that Kerry had access to the same intelligence reports that the President did. We knew that, but it's good to hear Sellers emphasize it.

I agree with your take. He has charged up the base except the monomaniacal Johnny-one-notes.

Thanks! I'll make sure I show that to her. She wouldn't tell me who she voted for but since it's likely that Kerry will be the nominee, I'm trying to collect everything possible about him.

They'd better watch out. They'll get booted off the site!

Agreed re: Bush's speaking style. If he is not as glib as Kerry or Dean, look at the result. Those idiots blather eloquently on and on and say nothing but crap, half of which they retract the next day.
W, on the other hand, carefully chooses his words, aaahhh...and says the right thing. If W's sometimes haltering style is confused as lack of confidence or being unsure of himself those are falling into the trap that has befallen all of W's opponent for the last 10 years.
I always look for 'genuine' and that's what I see. I heard zero flaws in logic today.

That interview was like one of those "Osama tapes" to the base "Okay, let's roll!"
We had enough of this stinkin Demo B.S. for the last month, we are hitting the trail.

What changed?
****
The dims lost the White House!
The only principle that they have is that the power belongs to them. Everything else is secondary, even the fact that we have troops overseas in daily harm's way. They will say and DO anything to regain power. Contradicting their own words is not a problem to them.

Agree with you 100%. And thank you, by the way, for returning to service out of love and respect for your country.
John Kerry thinks he can confuse people to get votes. The difference between his service and President Bush's service is not whether it was U.S. Navy or National Guard, but the---yes, I'm going to say it---unpatriotic attitude of Kerry when he returned from his.
My father had 5 children by the time World War II called young men into service. He therefore chose to enlist in the National Guard and during his time there received a medal from the governor. He asked to be buried with that medal and we honored his wish. I'm proud of his service in the National Guard.

Very good point! Russert looked really bad in attack mode. Wonder if Rush still thinks he is an unbaised intereviewer or whatever he calls him? Is is anything but unbiased but he sure did make the President look great!
