I agree, Miss M!! I have always been made intensely
uncomfortable by his whining ambivalence.

Russert played the Rats's cards by showing Kerry's comments, which, by any analysis, were political and demeaning to the President.

Glad he did... the Kerry and McAwful comments are already boomeranging on them, and helping Bush.

Edwards gave one superb answer on FOX, that GWB should pick up and use on the WMD stuff... when Edwards was asked if, knowing what he knows now about WMD, would he have changed his position on going to war, Edwards simply said, "I do not have that luxury. Our decisions were guided by the information we have." Bush could add, "I am the commander in chief, and my first constitutional responsibility is to protect our country..."

Bush should formulate every WMD answer exactly along these lines. People will understand.

I must strongly disagree, Stu Cohen. Russert kept asking the same question time and time again. W's answers were very thoughtful and measured, not stuttering and stammering. W's answers were more importantly correct and consistent and heartfelt. W must have been thinking that Russert wasn't hearing. How can I better explain myself.

W did not waver, he would not let Tim control the interview. I will only agree that he was on defense for the first 1/2 of the interview, but given the repetitive nature of the "interrogation", that's natural.

Agreed. I guess the point I was trying to make was that at least when we poke fun at them there is some kernel of truth in there. We do it in a wink and nod sort of way. The current crop of Democrats almost froth at the mouth for anyone who doesn't subscribe to the liberal brainwahing. Even when we poke fun and mock them I think we tend to do it in a more intellectual way.

Thank you, lainde! Did you note what this site says louder than anything? The absence of the 'name' or mention of John F. Kerry.

It was a huge financial bubble engineered by Rubin and Greenspan.

Thats been my view fro quite some time although I lean more toward Rubin and his cohorts propping up a failing Clinton presidency.

Don't see that view much.

Enough of Bush, how do you feel about the border/immigrant issues and their effects on America decades from now?

Well ... I wouldn't be writing any of my congress-critters on this issue.

No siree Bob!

Just because they comprise 1/3 of the governmental triangle and can write law and review how the executive branch is carrying out its execution of that law!

My AT&T home page as usual has an anti-Bush hit piece about the interview in it's headline news.

"Bush Offers Shifting Rationale for Iraq War" is in bold print next to the most unflattering photo of him they could find. It's a Reuters article and is incredibly biased and almost calls Bush a liar.

Next to it they have another article showing a victorious Kerry punching the air, and have his comments ripping Bush.

I am so sick of the liberal media.

You have your reasons for mispresenting VP Cheney here. The VP received the same intelligence the president received, and his representations are the same as the president's.

More disputing of your "He's hiding in a spider hole" nonsense, some (not all updated) of his schedule:

Richard B. Cheney Vice President

most americans didn't see this interview. many more people get the "news" about it from this post interview spin, and we know there is no way Bush is going to get fair coverage from the manistream media. Direct addresses to the nation, in prime time, is much more effective then an interview with Russert.

And let's not forget that it was F-16's of the 147th Fighter Squadron, TXARNG...

Was the 147th. Bush's unit? I spent two years in the California National Guard after six in the Army, so I wonder how many of the press with absolutely no military experience understand that one can transfer from one states National Guard unit to anothers, if there's room in a unit. Or, be put on tdy (temporary duty) to another unit or another state. The ANG controversy only shows the press's ignorance of things military.

The fact is, he's tired, and the strains of office are catching up with this good man. The burdens of the presidency always age the presidents who give a crap about the country.

Overall, he did OK, especially in the second half of the interview... and I honestly think the White House is keeping alot of its powder dry. The assault on the liberals has yet to begin... we do not want to peak too early... given the battering he's taken in the last month, the fact that he is tied with or leading Kerry demonstrates how politically strong he really is.

The interview started out disrespectful. First thing, Russert just blurted the WMD question, he didn't even thank the President for agreeing to do the interview, nothing. It's was utter lack of respect. I rarely watch Russert, I remember why now.

Thank you for the link to President Bush's military records, kcvl! If they're accessible to us, I don't understand why the media has such difficulty reporting the truth.

of course. But what is most amazing is that somehow the white house political team seems surprised that this is happening. Its about as predictable as the sun rising each morning. Why give NBC an interview, when they are part of the cabal? Better to do 2-3 interviews a week on talk radio and direct speeches to the nation.
