A FReeper who wishes to remain anonymous asked me to relay this message.

"My sister was laid to rest today (on Saturday.) The Honor Guard was there to ease her and her family into that good night. Please, thank all those folks at the Canteen who prayed for her and for us. I am sure they made all the difference as to the peace she had in her final adventure.
The good men and women of the Honor Guard deserve our recognition and support. They stood with us today, in the freezing cold, with snow howling around us, to comfort us and bring dignity to their deceased brother. God replied with a brilliant display of sunlight in the midst of the flurry. Please, let the Canteen know how much the Honor Guard has done for us. They need to continue to give of themselves to future needy families of our veterans and current warriors. The Honor Guard does this volunarily.
God bless them."

God bless them.

God bless them indeed!

Thank you for sharing the message with us. Prayers for and condolences to the family. May the message writer's sister rest in God's peace.

Kathy and I were just discussing your flowers while we were on the phone. I told her how touching I always found the Memorial Day Services held in the town in which I grew up. An Honor Guard was always an important part of that service.
