Bush has all ready conceded to Chinese Communist demands and appeased the Communist regime greatly at the time of Wen Jiabao's visit to the Whitehouse in early December.
But apparently that is not enough.
Will Bush appease again?

Bush should say sorry, but I'm too busy trying to contain North Korean nuclear ambitions. Of course if our friends the Chinese can lend a hand with that, it will free up some of our attention to address their concerns.

All joking/sarcasm aside, I would highly recommend "The making of Chinese foreign and Security Policy" edited by David M. Lampton.
It was assigned during my Chinese foreign policy class and it gives a good perspective of where the Chinese are coming from and where they are going.
March will be interesting with regards to the Taiwanese referendum that is scheduled to take place. I will be visiting my wife and doing research in China during this time. Hopefully nothing too exciting takes place.

What it comes down to is this: we can whip North Korea or China, but not both at the same time. Right now, Kim Jong-Il is a much more dangerous threat, wheras China will only attack Taiwan if provoked. China could take Taiwan now, but it would be messy, and they would rather wait until a political solution is possible or, if necessary, an overwhelming military advantage.
President Chen is a good guy, and his cause is just, but he has chosen a very poor time to kick the ant hill. If China flips out and attacks, we will help, but you can guarantee that NK will attack SK in that event. Many unnecessary casualties will result. All W is doing is buying time so that we can have a chance at defeating both NK and China in detail, each in their turn.
