What it comes down to is this: we can whip North Korea or China, but not both at the same time. Right now, Kim Jong-Il is a much more dangerous threat, wheras China will only attack Taiwan if provoked. China could take Taiwan now, but it would be messy, and they would rather wait until a political solution is possible or, if necessary, an overwhelming military advantage.

President Chen is a good guy, and his cause is just, but he has chosen a very poor time to kick the ant hill. If China flips out and attacks, we will help, but you can guarantee that NK will attack SK in that event. Many unnecessary casualties will result. All W is doing is buying time so that we can have a chance at defeating both NK and China in detail, each in their turn.
