See, I don't even blame the parents, or the little girl for walking behind that closed car wash. She was probably doing what she had done on a daily basis.
I wouldn't let my little girl out walking alone; but I am overprotective. But I used to wonder all of the town where I grew up as a little girl at all times of the day.
The only place the blame should lie in this case is on the person who committed the crime. We need to accept that sometimes bad things happen that we could never have expected.

The guy would have killed the Manatee woman if she wasn't rescued. Right!
This part of the article makes me sick to my stomach.
But jurors believed Smith. Some even congratulated him by shaking his hand after the trial. None of the jurors could be reached for comment Thursday.

I am sick of people excusing druggie behavior. Have you ever met a family who said " You know, Johnnie is a doper, but he has made our family so much better. We don't know what we would do without his sweet spirit, his lying, stealing, and walking around stoned". No, because it doesn't happen. I am not going to write the judge and congratulate him for letting Smith go because he had back pain and forged prescriptions for his pain. I am not going to protest with signs about all his dope convictions being a witch hunt and how drugs should be legalized.
Standing on my chair cheering. I nominate this quote for the freeper statement hall of fame.

The man suspected of abducting an 11-year-old girl is a drug addict accused of attacking at least two women in Bradenton and Sarasota, court records show. So he DOES have a pattern of attacking women. I wonder how many more unreported attacks are out there.

I was channel surfing the other night and came upon Greta Van Sistern interviewing a private detective hired by the Bruscia family. He said he had just gotten a tip a few minutes ago.......yet she continued to interview the man rather than say YOU MUST GO TO THE AUTHORITIES IMMEDIATELY.
She then allowed several other guests to criticize the man while she lamely took some of the blame herself. I imagine she got some heat in her earpiece about continuing the conversation with the P.I.

I am not going to protest with signs about all his dope convictions being a witch hunt and how drugs should be legalized.I'll be the first to tell you drugs should NOT be legalized (except maybe marijuana, which is really in the same class as alcohol). I was in the grip of one of the most deadly and insidious ones, cocaine.
But I do think drug addiction is a medical issue that should be treated as one, with the threat of prosecution ONLY if the druggie-in-question refuses to piss clean.

I just logged on and read the news. I am so upset that she was found dead. I figured she would be once they had the scum in custody, but there is always hope. I am sick about his record, and am wondering what you have to do in Florida to get thrown in jail and kept there, besides murder. My 2 year old son is on my lap, and I can't imaginewhat her parents are going thru. I hope they are devising a plan and it is something that involves a sniper though.

I totally agree! I have two girls, and they are beautiful. I am scared for them almost daily, due to pieces of sh*t like this guy. This makes me sick to my stomach!

Am inclined to agree.

At risk of being flamed, I hope this killer receives justice from our courts and mercy from God.I agree. Let's give him a fair trial, then hang him. Then G-d can be merciful and sentence him to hell.

I wonder if the church is also off Bee Ridge RoadIt's a church on Proctor road according to the Herald Tribune. The only church I remember on Proctor is a large Baptist church way out on Proctor near Gator Creek area. I think it's just called Sarasota Baptist. There are probably other churches on Proctor, but this one is in a sparesly populated area, so it seems like a likely spot. Or at least it was sparsely populated 8 years ago.

It is better to be over-protective like you indicated you are, even though the kids want to be grown up yesterday. It's not like when I was 11 but I think I was in before dark except on Halloween in a group.
The guy should not have been on the streets if you check the recent posts by other posters.

FL's DEATH PENALTY:
Johnny L. Robinson was executed Wednesday, February 4th, 2004 for the 1985 murder of a Plant City woman in a northeast Florida cemetery.
Robinson, 51, was condemned for the fatal shooting of Beverly St. George, whose car had broken down in St. Johns County.
He was the first person executed this year in Florida, which has executed 55 men and two women since the state reinstated the death penalty in 1976.
Paul Hill, 49, who died from lethal injection on Sept. 3, for the shooting deaths of an abortion doctor and his body guard, was the last person executed in Florida. Since 1924, Florida has executed more than 250 state prison inmates and one federal prisoner.
God bless you, Carlie...and your grieving friends and family.

I'm just po'd. I cried yesterday. I cried today. I'll probably cry tomorrow.
Legalese and procedure has totally replaced common sense. People who make better salaries than most regular, ordinary folks, have totally failed. It's disgusting. Like I said before, I just hope Utah gets on the ball and takes care of the perve who abducted that girl up there.

Mark Klass daughter was abducted from inside his home. A cretin like this will find a victim no matter how protective we are. His mistake was not realizing he was being video taped....

Joseph P. Smith's Public Defender Adam Tebrugge: Tebrugge considers the death penalty "the worst possible government boondoggle." He came in 4th out of 4 candidates in a 2002 run for Circuit Court judge. His primary goal was to be "punctual", followed by "hard-working, decisive, and treat all persons with dignity and courtesy." his website (tebrugge4judge) is a porn site--no kidding!WTH! Is that site really his or someone's who's trying to get back at him for letting sickos walk the streets and kill our children? Tebrugge, did your actions treat Carlie with dignity and courtesy?
