I agree. It is just one more industry to be hit hard. Times are tuff. It may also be a good time to become a vegetarian. Only problem I foresee with that option is where the rice comes from. With things as they are, food sources should be somewhat scrutinized. They don't exactly love us in China or Pakistan and possibilities exist for terrorism "in our bellies." Sanitation is an issue in third world countries. Buying American is more important than ever in my household.

Don't worry too much about that rice. Arkansas produces at least half of all of our country's rice. The world's largest exporter is Thailand, with India and Vietnam coming in second and third, the U.S. is fourth, with China coming in fifth. I have no idea if, or how much, rice is imported from China by the U.S.. Check your bags of rice. All of mine comes from Arkansas.

A couple of years ago I was driving through Arkansas, on my way to Spring River for a canoe trip. My friend said she felt so sad that the poor farmers' fields were so flooded, and that they would lose so many crops. I had a good laugh over that one!
