SANAA, Yemen, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- A purported statement by al-Qaida in Yemen warned Saturday of a "major strike" soon in the United States.
The statement, distributed by the Yemeni Tagamoo Party for Reforms, said: "A major strike, a big event will take place in America soon," reminiscent of the Sept. 11 attacks.

Would you please respond as best you can to my post #351?
NothingMan, help me understand why you feel Russia's upcoming exercises are designed as a warning, not so much to the U.S., but more so to N. Korea and Iran to "backoff" so to speak when Russia, in fact, is known to have assisted these countries with much of the techology and knowledge necessary to produce their nuclear weapons programs.
Sean, I sent you a private mail late last night regarding a post you made elsewhere. I'd be interested in a response if you don't mind.

I found several articles this morning in UK and Canadian papers, but they all say the same thing as what I posted last night. Here is a map of the area.....just a small hop into US from there.

TV news stations last night and this morning have reported in Washington State that polls are overwhelmingly showing GWB falling behind Kerry except in the eastern part of the state (lower population). Mr. Bush's immigration and spending policies are going to cost him the election if other states poll in a similar fashion and election results follow suit.

That was my first thought, who is the alternative to "W"???????????? An idiot like Kerry. I can't even stand the thought of that. We are in the most dangerous time in our history and cannot afford to fool around now.
I do hope our President is getting some feedback on this issue and will alter his course. Our entire country is being hijacked, not just our planes.

Another thing, we've got to get those democrats out of congress. They tied up the first 2 years of this term. People forget that. Believe me, I know President Bush is not perfect, but he's the best we've got right now. The only other alternative is let the democrats take it. If a democrat goes into office, we have had it. Our Nation will never recover and we'd all best start learning how to speak Chinese, or Russian.

Both were in Indonesia in the Irian Jaya area, which is now also refered to as Papua (the other half of the island is Papua New Guinea). The injuries/deaths were largely all in one specific province.
To: Letitring
No it's not the Chinese and the Russian language it's Spanish that we need to learn with a little arabic thrown in for good measure as they come in with the illegal mexicans.

Border hop Chen's brainchild: witness
Had to get to U.S.
By DAVID SCHMEICHEL, COURTS REPORTER
If at first you don't succeed ... try again. That's the advice immigration lawyer Ingrid Chen is alleged to have given to a client after airport customs officers refused him entry into the United States, court heard yesterday.
Ferdinand "Dean" Guiterrez, 32, testified yesterday that he sought Chen's help in getting back to California, where he was working as a computer analyst on a temporary visa. He was denied entry because he was caught lying to airport officials about the nature of his trip. He only did so "to make a long story short," he claimed.
SIGNIFICANT WAITING TIME
Chen came up with a number of ways to help, but none of them would get Guiterrez back in time to suit his employer, he said.
"All of them involved a significant amount of waiting time, which wasn't really going to work for me," said Guiterrez, who testified yesterday via a satellite link from California.
Guiterrez suggested driving over the border and flying home from North Dakota. Chen latched on to the idea, court heard.
"She said she knew some people who could get me across without going through the actual checkpoint," he said. "To me that sounded like a good idea."
After paying Chen............

In places I have been recently, there have been heated debates because people indicate they are fed up with Mr. Bush's policies. The recent meeting with Mr. Rove getting an earful won't amount to a hill of beans unless voters get assurances and action from Republicans about their concerns (immigration / medical insurance / economy / jobs / outsourcing / spending). Despite recent rosy projections about jobs and the economy, the reality is that the voters who are unemployed or don't have medical insurance may vote for any candidate who promises to change their plight.

Which they'll have NONE of, if a democrat is elected. I understand what you are saying, feel certain you understand what I'm saying, as well.

I have a feeling, if we thought the last election was bad, we haven't seen anything yet. I've been dreading this for 4 years.

Speaking of Britain. I don't see posts from MadIvan anymore. He use to post some great articles. Anyone know what happened to him?

Yes. Awhile back, near the time this thread was initiated, there was an article saying that Hillary was requesting fighter jets to overfly NY state nuke facilities.
