8pm ET Politics Today with Tim Ziegler (The Shrew)
IRS THREATENS SECOND AMENDMENT NEWSLETTERS: Under the guise of campaign finance reform, the U. S. Supreme Court's devastating decision in McConnell v. FEC threatens to outlaw issues-oriented newsletters, particularly pro-gun publications. GOA Director LARRY PRATT said, The IRS is leaping forward to expand the Court's ruling to include GOA newsletters, e-mail alerts, and other Second Amendment communications. Put out for comment on December 23, 2003 -- when, presumably, no one would notice -- proposed IRS Revenue Ruling 2004-6 created a broad new set of ambiguous standards which groups like GOA must follow near election time in order be "permitted" by the government.
WHERE WILL THE BUSH BUDGET LEAD US?: Massive budget increases, mounting post-war expenses and record amounts of money being printed 24/7. If you think this is the new Bush Budget, guess again. Its the old budget of the Weimar Republic. Honest Money Group founder STEVE CARR tells listeners the eerie parallels between the German post war economy and the current post/ongoing war economy of the U.S. Some startling statistics Carr gives include: 1) Current budget proposed is 2.4 trillion dollars. 2) Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid account for about one trillion of that. At current grown rates in ten years they will be at 2.6 trillion dollars just by themselves. 3) Our National Debt is at about 6.5 trillion dollars and increasing at a half trillion per year, not even including off budget items not being reported to the public. 4) The Trade Deficit with other countries is running at a half trillion dollars per year, meaning we are selling our resources to foreigners to continue to fund our debt. Current political polls show that John Kerry would beat Bush if the election were held today. But Carr asks Republicans and Democrats alike, Do we really think in our wildest imaginations that a Kerry Presidency would spend less than Bush? Carr contends that either way, we are headed for a radical economic paradigm shift.

The New York Slimes is an issue-oriented publication. You can bet they will not be required to comply with these standards.
Sure they have a greater number of issues that they advocate, but they Advocate for the Left non the less. They are the unofficial voice of the Democrat party and should be restricted under the CFR as any other issue oriented publication.
Their obvious bias (along with numerous other large urban newspapers) makes it a no brainer that they are an advocate of the Dimocrat Party and thus must be regulated under the CFR.
In all reality the New York Slime and the other papers make it obvious to me how the CFR is unconstitutional. Restrictions on issue oriented advertising during an election while allowing newspapers to publish what ever they like is patently unfair.
In most large urban areas there is only one major news paper and in most cases that paper is biased to the left (Californias resent Gubernatorial recall election and the obvious bias of the LA Slimes should make this obvious to all). The same can usually be said for the major network television stations.
