"greatness inspired greatness inspired by....Greateness."

An example of true Grace.

"if the reading of this review leaves me face to face with my own unGodlikeness, I wonder what the movie will do."

I suspect you are being convicted by your own heart (true Grace at work) and once you see this film, I think you'll have your answer. Many will be praying so. Bless you for your honesty and candor.

As Jesus said, "Come unto Me all you who travail and are heavily laden, and I will refresh you". Matthew 11:28

And He will.

The Resurrection scene is perhaps the shortest in the entire movie - and yet it packs a punch that can't be quantified. It is perfect. There is no way to negotiate the meaning out of it. It simply asks, "Now, what will you do?"

Rated R, GatorGirl, so, if you decide not to take 'em, get the DVD so they can see it when they are mature enough.

If you can't bear to read this; APU -- In Focus -- The Science of the Crucifixion Cahleen Shrier, Ph.D., is an associate professor in the Department of Biology and Chemistry, you probably will have to turn your head more than once The Passion of the Christ, official Web site.

I haven't entered a Movie Theatre since 1987. I will see this one.

Thanks Fed.

I hadn't planned to take them, but I wanted to see if anyone would try to persuade me to!!!

No one has so I'm relieved....It's interesting, before your post only the college kids weighed in and both said probably don't take them.

Don't worry, I'm not a parent who allows my children to see rated R films, although my son, a former dinosaur fanatic started watching the Jurassic Park movies when he was three or so. He assured us that he knew it was "movie magic" since dinosaurs were "stinked". We don't even watch TV, but we do have a DVD player and watch movies once in a while.

Have a great evening! GG

I definitely plan to see it, but should I bring my children? They are 8 and 5

From the reviews I've seen, I'm not sure I'm up to it, on several levels. Graphic violence, gore and such is unpleasant to watch, for me. My kids like the "Emergency Room" shows, but it's tough for me to watch them. But nevermind the clinical part. I know that I would (will) be deeply moved by seeing a faithful reenactment of His sacrifice for me. We are not deserving of such sacrifice, and yet it was freely given. I doubt that many kids would grasp the awesome significance, as an adult is capable of grasping. Just my opinions, anyway.

*bump* for Gibson's "Passion."

Like Jude, I am also a single college kid and don't exactly have qualifications to try to tell a parent what to do.

Mel is the father of 7 children so he's qualified....he recommends 13 or older.

Is there any reason this has to be in chat?

Could it be moved to the Religion Forum?
