STATEMENT BY PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH ON THE MA SUPREME COURT RULING APPROVING GAY MARRIAGE
The White House ^ | February 4, 2004 | President George W. Bush

STATEMENT BY THE PRESIDENT

Today's ruling of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court is deeply troubling. Marriage is a sacred institution between a man and a woman. If activist judges insist on re-defining marriage by court order, the only alternative will be the constitutional process. We must do what is legally necessary to defend the sanctity of marriage.

You make an excellent point. The only answer is relentless selective impeachment of Judges who break their oaths.

Here ya go :-)

Statement by John Fonda Kerry

Today's ruling of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court is deeply troubling for me because it puts me in the position of actually standing for something. In my 19 years in the Senate and my tour of duty in "Nixon's War", I never stood for anything, my opinions resembled that of a Sail in the wind, wherever the political winds blew, I was there for America.

My long standing reputation of being fickle has never changed and I'm not about to change now, but I know what's good for America and American's want a leader, so today I am breaking with tradition and will side with the Massachusetts Supreme Court and support the right for Gays to Marry, as well as protect the sanctity of Marriage between a man and woman.

Mr. President Bush, I know a little something about Marriage, I've been Married twice... How bout you?, and I also know about Divorce, Something you don't, and BTW, I also served in Vietnam

And the state Senate can simply ignore the court or declare the ruling illegal.

Not gonna happen.

I find it funny that these people who ask if he's serious or say that his words are cheap. Seem to jump the gun on the mere speculation of an immigrant program. Some people just thrive off of redmeat I guess.

Good move "W"! Now work to repeal the CFR act. Reduce the money for "AIDS" in Africa to 20 bucks, match that amount for the NEA and the UN, get rid of the socialistic perscription drug insanity and then kick Kerry back to Vietnam.

Oh, and don't sign the "mean looking rifle" act when it comes up for renewal.

Get this done by Friday. I'll have a new list then.

I can paraphrase.

He said that he is not in favor of homosexual marriage but he supports civil unions and when he was in the senate he fought like Al Gore to ensure that all Americans had equal rights.

Of course there was no need for him to fight so hard the 14th Amendment was ratified in 1868.

Of course the point is that he was running away from the issue as fast as he could. But he is on record as voting against DOMA which has now passed in 40 states and counting. Folks are not gonna look kindly on a Massachusets Presidential candidate who thinks his ultra liberal state should define marriage for the rest of the country.

Poor John.

Great idea! I would love to send the National Guard of MA to lock down the courthouse. Then Kerry will see the National Guard does wear uniforms. Still steamed over Kerry and his comments on the National Guard.

I thought one of the roles of SCOTUS is to oversee the actions of lower courts, be they Federal or State. That was the pretense of their intervention in the actions of the Florida supremes. They told them they couldn't just make up their own laws.

.

My Take on this....

I thought that the Legislature made the LAWS.
And, the Judicial Courts Interpeted the laws.

But according to AP,

the Courts TOLD the MASS Legislature to make a law.
Something is SERIOUSLY wrong in Massachusetts.

Rather than going through the cumbersome amendment process, impeachment would be a better route.

The thought of losing their fat jobs will do more to clarify the minds of errant judges quicker than 1000 protests or Constitutional Amendments!

Dubya should just say it out loud:
"Do y'all want to be like those pansy Scandanavian countries where
judges tell the whole country to bend over and take it?"

I know that's crude...but that's basically what is going on here and now.
