STATEMENT BY PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH ON THE MA SUPREME COURT RULING APPROVING GAY MARRIAGE
The White House ^ | February 4, 2004 | President George W. Bush

STATEMENT BY THE PRESIDENT

Today's ruling of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court is deeply troubling. Marriage is a sacred institution between a man and a woman. If activist judges insist on re-defining marriage by court order, the only alternative will be the constitutional process. We must do what is legally necessary to defend the sanctity of marriage.

All the more reason to make sure that the President who may have the opportunity to appoint up to four Supreme Court justices in the next five years is GEORGE W. BUSH.

P.S. Jesus preached love.

God killed sodomites. They didn't learn. They started their 'ol fetish again, and got wiped out a second time.
Now, AIDs is doing the job again, but slowley. I suppose a major, faster, more deadly plague is headed their way. The sodomites are dieing too slow.
You see, homosexuality is against natural law. Not one living thing on this planet is naturally homosexual. Some plants are hermaphroditic where they reproduce alone, but none sexually dysfunctional like the human homosexual.
Nature kills off the mutated and diseased. It's a natural cleaning to protect the healthy members of the species. It's past time for nature to take care of the homosexuals. I'm surprised it's taking so long this time. I'm sure another plague will finally do the trick. It's happened before, it'll happen again.

Just like it's ridiculous for the state to tell two taxpayers they can't get married

Oh BS, you can marry your goat if you want. Just get someone to perform the "ceremony" and it is off to the barn. If you don't want state sanction then just say the vows and live common law.

Just so there is no mistake, something can be sacred without being religious. Sacred is for items of institutional respect.

All the homosexuals are jumping up and down over the use of the word "sacred".

I'm puzzled how the illegal alien issue relates to this topic?

I thought we were talking about the issue of gay marriage and the need to protect the sanctity of marriage between and man and a woman. I don't see the connection???

I know it's hard, but let's leave the immigration debates for immigration threads OK, we're talking about Marriage :-)

cousinlance has been sent to the big dumpster in the sky. If we have faith, he can hear us, but he cannot respond any longer.

It is so sad.

You apparently responded to my post without reading carefully. So I'll just try to clarify. You thought my post supported you marrying your goat. And what taxes does your goat pay? If you don't understand my question, reread.

I think it is our duty as citizens to see that Bush has his wish to put Conservative judges on the bench, and reverse the trend of immorality, back on course to wholesome morality, while maintaing the rights and freedoms we enjoy from the Constituion that the rest of the Socialist world can look upon us in shock and awe.

What do taxes have to do with getting married? You want the state out of sanctioning marriage and my point is that you can be married without state sanction at any time.

I was identifying a group of people "taxpayers" who generally have rights in the country. You can say adults or citizens or whatever. If someone is paying to support the government they should receieve the same legal protection or benefit as the next guy when it comes our our "sacred institutions."

A constitution should be a constitution. A guide for who society lives. There is NOTHING wrong with memorializing a millenia's worth of history into black letter law.

As an incorporation of common law, it will recieve broad interpritation and protection. Adopting this WILL send the right message to judges.

Where do you get your talking point, from the Human Rights Coalition or some other homosexual group?

My position is that the government has a role in protecting children, defining where adulthood starts, and of course children cannot contract. So no, I don't support the marriage of the 15 year old, even though it used to be 12 year olds in some states.
