Quote "Foolish statement re stats on new aids cases. The number of aids cases in straights versus gays is meaningless given that there are 95 straight people per gay so if 1% of straights gets aids the number is huge even compared to 50% of gays. You are using stats to perpetuate a lie,,that straight people are equally at risk of aids. That is a clear political try to make Aids "our disease" rather than what it is,,a plague among gays and IV drug abusers with a few straight people caught in the crossfire from other reasons. Your reasoning won't work here."
If you think there are only 5% of the population that would be considered gay...then you are just not living in reality :)
I will let you believe that though...if it helps brighten your day :)
Heh...
The comment does stand...more straight people are getting and spreading these diseases than gay people.
You can believe what you like...

The 10% gay figure is politically derived. And don't be patronizing to me. Your stats are a lie and you know it. You quote these fantasy stats to support an argument that the gay lobby has been using quite successfully for years. And using that argument to treat 7 year olds in schools to finding out out to put condoms on bananas and such. The agenda is to put out the lie that we are all at risk for this disease so it will be funded to the extreme, even moreso than for the more widespread public health problems like cancer and heart disease. It is to give the gay lobby a massive amount of money, legitimacy and ppolitical power to make our culture not just willing to let people live and let live but to embrace their more radical elements.

If you think there are only 5% of the population that would be considered gay...then you are just not living in reality :) NO, it is you who is ignoring reality. There is more scientific research supporting the lower range (1-5%) than the higher (5-10%+) of those predisposed to homosexuality, and in fact many gay groups have quietly backed off their 10% claim. Now if you want to lump in peer pressure type experimentation in the face of a huge media market campaign on impressionable teens, you might, might reach that 10%. But that doesn't tell us what percent has gay tendencies, it just inflates that number by combining a segment of exhibitionists, those who are easily manipulated/influence, and those who are morally confused.
Of course that last sentence is colored by moral interpretations, but you get my point, and the math still stands. The gay lobby certainly hasn't hesitated in offering widely inflated claims and junk science colored by their views.

She said there's 95 straight people for each homosexual. And what percentage of the population do you think is gay?
AIDS has been around for 20 years and in the U.S. there is minimal heterosexual transmission. If you want to cite African numbers which are far different from U.S. numbers due to their bizarre sexual proclivities, you should admit that this is a red herring you're introducing.

Perhaps we can permanently quarantine all those who have AIDS or are discovered to have it and we can resolve your disagreement. It is the leprosy of our time and is quite cummonicable and ought to be dealt with as the public health problem that it is.
Unless and until that time, it would certainly appear that cajungirl has the best of this argument until proven otherwise which is ratherrrr, unlikely.
You ought also to consider that anal sex is merely more common among the lavender set and that some couples consisting of a man and a woman may be sharing AIDS just as the lavenders do.
Finally, when a man and a woman who are virgins and not sharers of needles with others and live up to the commitment of exclusivity in their marriage and remember always to put things only where they belong, AIDS is rather rare.
