U.S. and coalition forces in Iraq continue to take the fight to the enemy, a senior U.S. military officer reported from Baghdad today.

"The coalition remains offensively oriented in order to proactively attack, kill or capture anti-coalition and anti-Iraqi elements," Army Brig. Gen. Mark Kimmitt told reporters during a press conference.

U.S. and coalition troops across Iraq have conducted 1,625 patrols, 12 offensive operations and 15 raids over the past 24 hours, Kimmitt, the deputy operations director of Combined Joint Task Force 7, said.

Forty-two suspected insurgents, he added, were captured within that timeframe.

Meanwhile, the Iraq area of operations "remains relatively stable," Kimmitt remarked, noting that the past week has seen an average of 23 daily engagements against coalition military, just over four attacks daily against Iraqi security forces, and just under two attacks daily against Iraqi civilians.

Offensive U.S.-coalition military operations also are being conducted across Iraq "to obtain intelligence for future operations and to assure the people of Iraq of our determination to establish and maintain a safe and secure environment," Kimmitt concluded.

I wish it read: "Forty-two suspected insurgents, he added, were killed within that timeframe."

"Captured", doesn't scare anybody. They kill us, we capture them?

The only way this works is if God Almighty will show the Muslim world that America is truly a good Christian nation, turning the other cheek, giving up their lives for there fellow man, and while they kill US - loving our enemy.

whew. What an example this country is setting for the pages of history to record and others to follow. I am sooo proud of this Country, and our Armed Forces and President Bush.

Mr. President secure our borders. It won't be a bad thing you will be doing. This World needs a strong American nation and you can't have a nation without borders.

We must have borders.

Some people ask: What is your proposal for securing our 18,000 miles of border? I answer incredulously, you want just one? Securing Borders is one of the oldest duties of government. It goes back thousands of years. If it could be done then, why is anyone surprised that it could not be done now.

The Richest Country on Earth. The Only Superpower. A country which placed 12 men and 2 suvs on the MOON, MORE than a quarter century ago. A country with more than 280 MILLION people. A country which TODAY, secures the borders of other countries around the world, could easily accomplish this task.

Of course if you envision men lined shoulder to shoulder, then you will be sorely displeased. That is not the way it has ever been done. The way it has been done is to use technology and determined force, yes even deadly force. Is this country worth defending with deadly force in Germany and Japan and Iraq, then even more so in Texas and California, Washington and Maine, Michigan and Minnesota.

The difficulty in defending the border of this country is not on the ground but in the heart. Any endeavor of great magnitude needs courageous leadership. As for specifics - let me count the ways.....
