I'll give it another week and we'll see tear away bras in the stores.

I'll give it another week and we'll see tear away bras in the stores. And I"ll give it another six months before some grade-schooler tries it in a schoolyard.

If their stranglehold wasn't slipping, there would have been no attempt at an apology. They would have aired The Fake Reagans on CBS instead of Viacom's Showtime. They wouldn't be having a hissy fit about "the fairness doctrine" because Rush Limbaugh is on the radio and Fox News is on
some cable providers.
There would have been no "temper tantrum" in 1994 for Peter Jennings to complain about.
I don't see the light at the end of the tunnel yet but the shackles are being cast off. The left will strike harder and continue to try to demonize conservatives and beat down those who might no longer identify themselves as "Democrat".

Geez, I'm really removed from the grade school scene. I suppose 2nd graders are wearing bras now, even the girls! Lol!

BS. The stunt went exactly as planned, including the uproar. The "artists" involved are smiling like a butcher's dog behind the scenes.

Jackson & Timberlake keep coming up with all these lies to keep their names in print and provide rationalizations to avoid being penalized.

Last time I was there, grade school went all the way up to the 8th grade. I'm showing my age, I guess.
And btw, I'd say that that particular habit starts with some girls around 4th grade.

LIARS! I don't believe this was an accident, the Jackson's and MTV just don't like the reaction. One does not wear a pastie if one is planning to show the bra only does one? NO!

This only the latest example of MTV's longstanding effort to mainstream deviance.

Uhhhhhh, how to delicately say this....I haven't checked if he still has it up, but Drudge had a close up picture at his site and that area was not covered. This was a piercing that featured the part you mentioned as a centerpiece.

I remember when Jr. High School was 7-8 and maybe 9. Then it became middle school. What's with 10 year old's wearing bras? Oh well, forget it, I have other things to care about.

Those are great thoughts, but I ain't holding MY breath!
The culture is DUMB and has a short attention span. The minute something happens to distract them from this, they will forget all about it.

I suppose we should be grateful that she wears a bra at all!

Even without the 'breast fiasco' the routine was pure sleaze worthy of condemnation. I don't understand why everyone is fixated on just that one incident. Are they saying that had the breast not been exposed, everything would be AOK? I would hope not!
To: Beelzebubba
I think it is fair to guess that
THERE WAS NO BRA.
All there was is a bit of red trim on the black cup edge, based on the item in Dweebo's hand in the photo at the top.

One wonders why she looks so ashamed in the picture above? If she feels inclined to cover her boob after the performance, why not during the performance?

I'm tired of people saying "everybody is fixated" on the "one" incident.
We're not. The whole thing was sleazy and you'd have been hearing about it except the final act was indeed the transcendent moment of sleaze.
Believe me, I was not surprised to hear about Michael Jackson, who years and years ago did a SuperBowl halftime show and I watched aghast as he did the crotch-grabbing (it was a brand new public display that since has been copied ad nauseum) while surrounded by little kids on the stage. A few years later when the first allegations arose I had to wonder who could be surprised?
Just because the focus is on the one, doesn't mean the rest is being disregarded, nor should this act be ignored and the rest focused on.
And while I'm on the subject, and before I move on, I heard MSNBC replay Katie Couric from this morning. While she didn't like it, she pointed out that MTV and other award shows have had these performers parading their breasts darn near naked for awhile. She and others (though she agreed this was not right) miss that it wasn't just revealing, it was the entire act, as you point out, plus the act of Timberlake aggressively exposing her. It's all context and the big picture and the where it was performed. And now they lie about it and won't even own up to their clever little plan to "shock" the nation.

She doesn't look ashamed. They're both posing having completed their little act there.
To: weegee
Those signs don't tell me their stranglehold is slipping.
You know how the old story goes. If you throw a live frog into a kettle of boiling water, he'll jump out; but, if you put the frog into tepid water and apply heat, the frog will not notice the temp rising and will stay in the kettle until it's boiling and he's dead.
Well, instead of frogs, they're cooking sheeple. The heat's on and the water temperature is rising. Every once in a while the cooks turn up the heat to see if the sheeple react. If or when the sheeple bleat about morals and such, the cooks respond with contrition, and turn the flame back down to where it was. By doing this every so often, the cooks give the sheeple a sense of security and victory; they think they've won a battle in the culture war. But, in fact, the heat is still on. The temperature is still rising.
